Like most tours its the guide that can make or break it. It was a brilliant trip and would recommend the Company to anyone wishing to do this tour
We had a great experiences with the professional and responsive customer service and the guided tour. Maria and and our guide Zezva have been attentive and accommodating. Enquiries pre-and post trip were replied promptly. Pleasure to meet Zezva as a professional guide and as a person. Overall, we enjoyed a well organised guide tour.
The weather wasn't with us for this tour - thick fog almost as soon as we left Tbilisi - but the company and discussions we had with our guide Irakli made up for the lack of a view. In fact his personal history with the monastery and insights into the past were so atmospheric the weather provided a perfect backdrop to the day. He also explained simply about all aspects of Georgian culture throughout the day, and was never insistent about how long we should spend anywhere or even how long the day should be. Hope you manage to get a trip with Irakli too....
Thanks so much for your thoughtful review! Foggy days can be tricky, but we’re really glad Irakli’s personal stories and easygoing style turned it into something memorable. His connection to the monastery adds a layer you don’t get from guidebooks, and it’s great to hear you appreciated the slower, more flexible pace. Hope the rest of your time in Georgia was just as rewarding!
The Kakheti region is stunning and although the natural landscape was beautiful the star of our trip was our guide Zezva. Zezva is passionate, knowledgable and just simply wonderful. We learnt not only about Kakheti region but about Georgia and Georgians from him. He also was really considerate and gave us time for photos, rest, and exploring - overall really letting us take it all in our own pace. I can’t compliment him enough he was amazing and really made our trip memorable. Thank you Zezva for being an excellent ambassador for your country!
This was the second tour we did with this tour company. The tour coordinator Maria confirmed the guide details a day prior along with his contact number and pick up time. On the day of the tour, we were picked up by tour guide Zezva in a big Toyota car (we were 4 adults and 1 child).Zezva spoke very good english and was extremely patient throughout the day considering we were with a small 2.5 year old child. We started off our tour with a visit to KTW (Kakheti Traditionak Wine) factory and tried abt 6-7 types of wines.Initially we were offered 2-3 white wines and later abt the same number for red wines.I quite liked No.26 (red wine).Lastly we were also offered the famous Cha Cha which was extremely strong.Post this we were taken to a small traditional bakery shop to try Georgian bread which was quite nice.It was baked in a Tandoor (Indian version) and had salt mixed so you could eat it without any add-on’s.Post this we visited the monastery which had scenic views to capture pictures in its surroundings. After this we visited the town of Signagi from where we bought few local souvenirs (hand bags and carpets at reasonable bargains considering the off season). The tour ideally contains visits to 3 wine factories, however as we werent interested in visiting more wine factories after KTW, Zezva and the tour company were extremely accommodative to customise the tour.We wanted to visit the Funicular and the Chronicles of Georgia back in Tbilisi as it was our last day of trip and we hadn't covered that.We came back from Kakehti during the day itself so that we could capture few nice shots at the Chronicles before the sun sets. Overall a great day with Zezva and the tour company (Thanks to Maria too).I highly recommend their tour company for further sightseeing tours.
The sites we saw were gorgeous. Our guide was amazing. His English was great and he explained everything very well. There were some fun unexpected surprises along the way. This was a fabulous fabulous tour.
Our guide, Data was the highlight of the tour. He made us feel as if we are exploring the area with one of our local friends. Totally recommend the tour with him
We had only 4 days in Georgia and so happy that we booked this tour. Irakli , our guide has so much knowledge of the country and told us lots of personal stories that gave us a glimpse of Georgian life in the past and present. We got to try homemade sweets, brandy, wine and cheese along with the beautiful sights in Kakheti. Gareji was simply magical. The perfect tour for the curious traveler as Irakli was a bank of knowledge. I wish I hadn’t been so jet lagged and sleepy so I could ask more questions. Highly recommend! The day went by so fast.
We had a private tour from George which was one of the best tours we have ever done. George was a great tour guide - a safe driver, knowledgeable but not overbearing and even took the extra effort to make a special stop to see some old Soviet buildings after we said we were interested in Soviet architecture. The day is an excellent mix - we had the chance to try baking our own Georgian bread, did a wine tasting and saw the monastery. The wine tasting is particularly good - with a stunning location and the opportunity for one of the winemakers to talk us through the wines we were tasting and the winemaking process more generally. We highly recommend to others!
This was our second day with Zurab, so we already knew it was going to be a great day, but even then our expectations were blown away. We got to understand a lot about Georgian history and mythology, and Zurab's incredible sense of timing meant that we never felt rushed and got to see everything in detail. Thank you very much also to Maria for building such a great team! We can't wait to come back to Georgia!
