Kawah Ratu is a former eruption of Mount Salak, which last occurred in 1938 This crater has often been used as a hiking or climbing destination, as an interesting natural phenomenon.
Wonderful day! Couldn’t recommend it enough and it was my favourite activity during my stay in Bogor. On the way visited a traditional visit and saw how nutmeg was processed, then we started a 2 x hour rainforest hike to Mount Salak (and crater), and also got a chance to swim in the hot springs. On the way back, we had some lunch in the village and then made our way to the pick up place. My guide was attentive and kept me safe on the slippy walk through the forest.
