Overlook the charming Swiss town of Grindelwald as your fly with the Eiger Express to Eiger Glacier Station

180 min

As we head along the Jungfrau line through Zweilütschinen, Grindelwald and Kleine Scheidegg, your guide will share stories about the people, cultures, and history of each town and city you pass. Your train will climb steadily through the Alps, passing glacial lakes and staggering rock faces. The view from the train is one of the best in the world, offering a birds eye view of this epic area. The journey to “The Top of Europe” will include the opportunity to take in the stunning view from Eismer Station, the second highest railway station in the world after the Jungfraujoch. Back on the train the sights only get better, as you reach an elevation of 3,466 metres approaching Jungfraujoch. The station is perched on a glacier saddle on the upper snows of the Aletsch Glacier and is a must-visit for anyone interested in the Alps. The icy air will provide welcome refreshment as you explore the viewing platform, discovering the many ice sculptures and frosty vistas dotted around the area.

60 min

Next, you will head to Interlaken, weaving your way through the small town of Wengen, whose views are as mesmerizing as they are legendary. Watch as rocky climbs give way to lush Alpine valleys, and the skyline rises and falls along with the surrounding peaks. Your ride will pause at Lauterbrunnen, a valley town set within dramatic rock faces and epic waterfalls. Here we will take a walk to the iconic Staubbach Falls, whose water drops a whopping 297 meters from the overhanging cliffs to the pool below. The sight of the water dissolving to spray as it falls is striking. Our guide will share the stories behind the falls, and you will have the opportunity to take photos of the stunning surroundings.

120 min

Set between twin glacier-fed lakes, the bustling town of Interlaken is a hub of activity, surrounded by stunning alpine scenery. As you tour the city you will learn about how it became the gateway to the Swiss Alps, and enjoy the pretty timber houses, sidewalk cafes, and live buskers which line the historic streets. In the summer, the clear waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz provide a perfect retreat from the midday sun, and you can enjoy the azure waters from the shore as you walk the promenade. You will also have the chance to explore the numerous gift and souvenir shops here, selling traditional Swiss wares, artisan food and drink, and adventure equipment.

120 min

At the end of your tour, your guide will return you safely to Basel.

Very Bad and unprofessional Viator experience

I reached the pick up point 20 minutes prior to the pick up time, but couldn’t find the guide. The tour operator contact number provided by Viator was of no use. No one picked up the call when I tried. The tour operator didnt even pick up the call when Viator personnel called them directly as well. After multiple failed attempts to contact no one picked me up. My limited time available in Switzerland got wasted. Viator doesn’t even provide refund for this incident inspite of all the events that followed. The trip itself is very costly and no refund initiated. Initially they said refund is requested. Later they said refund can’t be done without even providing proper justification. When we replied back and asked for a reason we wont get the response as well immediately. I went to the same place next day via a different agency and their tour operator was very prompt in lifting the phone calls whenever we called them. I took the same tour from interlaken from a different travel agency and booked basel to interlaken train tickets separately. This way I saved 220 Euros which is a huge amount. So price Viator offers is totally unacceptable as well. I had an opinion that Viator is reliable company. But me and my family completely lost faith on Viator with this incident and they are not even initiating refund. I am still fighting for the refund but Viator said they cant initiate refund without any reason. When asked for the reason I didnt get any answer yet as they are Very blunt and not responsive actively I recommend not to pick viator at all

Great tour not to miss!

It was winter cold, regardless a tour not to be missed. It was snowing and wind velocity was high but worth the visit to the top of the mountain. English tour guide Ray had the trip planned smoothly, no hiccups and timed the trains, gondola, itinerary and organized well. Enjoyed the young man’s explanations and patience on the whole tour and guidance. Will use this travel agency and Ray again.

Top of Europe Private Tour

We had a wonderful day chock full of memories. Jonas took care of us completely. He had everything planned but told us the day was ours to enjoy, no matter what we did or how much time we spent doing all the things that were part of the day. We were most comfortable knowing that we didn’t need to worry about train schedules, etc. It was totally stress free for us. We would totally utilize Venez in the future if our travels take us to France, Germany or Switzerland. We are happy we make to choice to do this day trip.
