Visit the simple, concrete memorial to President Kennedy, designed by architect Philip Johnson, which called it "a place of quiet refuge, an enclosed place of thought and contemplation separated from the city around, but near the sky and earth." Finally, make a stop at the historic Texas Movie Theater in Oak Cliff, a beautiful and historic area of downtown Dallas. It gained historical significance on November 22, 1963 as the location of Lee Harvey Oswald´s arrest for the killing of Dallas police officer J.D. Tippit. If you’re interested in the history surrounding the JFK assassination, then you must take this tour! Learn fact from fiction and myth from truth. Our guide Dan was outstanding and really knows his stuff. I have been on a lot of tours around the world, and this one is now one of my favorites!
We were in a nice air conditioned van with a friendly driver and excellent tour guide. We learned so much from our guide!
This tour was outstanding! Dan was extremely knowledgeable and had a very entertaining style. Even if you already know a lot about the history of the assassination, you will likely still learn several new things. Going inside the Rooming House was particularly interesting and truly felt like you were travelling back to 1963. Dan was very good at making the tour interactive and answering all the questions that were asked of him. I can't recommend this tour enough! Thank you for such a great experience, Dan.
The tour was exceptional, particularly for those visitors who want to hear the granular details about Oswald and his frenzied missteps immediately after the shooting of JFK. Our guide, Issac, was phenomenal and is clearly well-steeped in Oswald’s life from childhood to his troubled final years to his desperate last days. However, what made this tour stand out was Issac’s pacing, his kindness, and his ability to take our group on this frenetic journey through the alleys and backstreets of South Dallas to almost place you in Oswald’s mindset as he tried to evade capture. It is truly amazing that almost all of these 100-year ++ structures still exist in an area of Dallas likely not fully committed to preserving this history. All-in-all, this is a tour well worth taking, no matter how geeked out you may be on the JFK assassination. Isaac makes the tour interesting to everyone on all levels. If I return to Dallas I may take the tour again.
Dan was super knowledgeable & funny & engaging with all on the tour - hugely enjoyable- Malcolm McLeod
The tour was interesting and Orlando had a lot of good information, but his delivery was a bit weird and we felt it was tailored only to US residents. We were visiting during the World Cup, most of the people in our group were international visitors and some of the jokes and references didn’t land very well. It was a hot day and we also could’ve used some water once we got in the van. Overall it was an enjoyable and informative tour but Orlando could work a bit to tailor the message based on the makeup of the group.
Our tour guide Dan was the best… fun and funny with an incredible knowledge of the subject matter. Thought I knew a lot about the assassination of JFK but nothing compares to being in the exact places places of that fateful day.
The best thing we did in Dallas by far . Danny the guide was passionate knowledgable and took plenty of time for questions etc . Totally recommend this
This tour was out of this world!!! We were nervous about taking a three hour tour….but 3 hours was not enough!!! Our tour guide Dan kept our attention and left us wanting to hear more…he was passionate and extremely knowledgeable…an amazing historian and he conveyed the information in a fun and memorable way!!! We learned so much about such a critical time in US/World history!!! Please take this tour…you will not be disappointed!!!
Orlando was a great tour guide. He was charismatic, very informative and kept us engaged. There was so much I didn't know before the tour. Would definitely recommend.
