Unfortunately our tour to the Jewish Ghetto was cancelled. While we were offered another tour that we took( and it was ok) it was not what we wanted. We had booked this several months in advance. It was cancelled the day of the tour.
It was a disaster! The guide was unprepared and unscripted. His chat was all over the map. He pre ordered food rather than letting people choose . Hardly anyone ate the 2nd stop. I tried to talk to him but he ignored me. I left half way through . 4 hours is gruelling with a bad, disorganized host.
Vanessa was absolutely wonderful! She was so knowledgeable and pleasant. She encouraged us to ask questions throughout the tour. We visited so many places with fantastic food, we got a great feeling for the city through the food. While Vanessa is not Jewish, she knows her material and provided great background. The only problem was we were so full e couldn’t do dinner lol!
Denis was a great tour guide! Knowledgeable, funny and overall a pleasure. Tour was interesting and food spots were all amazing . We toured the jewish Ghetto which was the 1st ghetto in all of Europe and very touching to be able to see this part of Venice. Lots of delish Cicchetti ( small Venetian appetizers) and great wines to taste at each stop. Overall would truly recommend checking out this food tour.
Very informative. Guide is so warm and friendly…the food is delicious and there’s plenty of it. I would definitely recommend
