Jerusalem Temple Mount & Dome of the Rock

Description
The tour starts with a view across Jerusalem from Mount of Olives. We descend the mount passing Jerusalem’s oldest Jewish cemetery dating back 3,000 years. We walk through the Kidron Valley where there are Jewish tombs dating back to the 1st century AD and enter the Old City via the Dung Gate. We continue to Temple Mount, a sacred site once home to the ancient Jewish Temple and today home to the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque. At times entrance to Temple Mount is limited by the authorities and under those circumstances we will visit the Tower of David instead. Next we visit the Davidson Center, an archaeological park adjacent to Temple Mount with excavated First and Second Temple Period structures. We tour the excavated site and see ancient remains from various historic periods. At the end of the tour you are returned to your hotel.

An unhurried tour of the Temple Mount early before the masses of visitors come up from Ashdod. Many of the shops were still closed. My guide got me into a private office with a view of the Dome and Al Aqsa Mosque. I didn't tour the Dome as my guide was a secular Jew. He would have arranged a Muslim guide if I had asked for it.
Thanks very much for this complimentary feedback fo the ;tour and of your guide. We are so pleased to read that he made very effort to accomodate this wish of yours under the circumstances. Yes there are certain operational requirements for a visit inside. Clearly this was a memorable tour experience for you. Great for other readers to read.
Another of the must-see places in Jerusalem, although the place is sacred to Muslims and Jews, only the former can pray there, all others can go as visitors, but you cannot enter inside mosques and have strict hours, it is curious to access through a wooden bridge that passes over the Wailing Wall.
Thanks for sharing your favorable impression of this significant location. It is clear you had an enlightening and meaningful visit there Not sure this is for our services?
When you exit the Lionsgate in Old Jerusalem its not far to the mount of Olives and the Garden of Getsemane located on its slope.
We are presuming the text of this post was cut off... We do this walking tour in the Footsteps of Christ
