One of the interesting tourist spots that you can visit while in the Old City of Jakarta is the Fatahillah Museum. This tour seems to be inseparable from the Old City. It can be said if this museum is a silent witness of the struggle of the Indonesian people in achieving independence. Initially the museum was named the Batavia Museum during the VOC occupation. Not only used as a city hall, but also used as a courtroom to the dungeon. No wonder there are a lot of heritage objects from the Dutch era that are still neatly stored in the Fatahillah Museum. This colonial style building has become a tourist attraction that should not be missed when visiting the Old City of Jakarya. The Bank Indonesia Museum is a legacy of De Javasche Bank and has been established since 1828. There you can see a variety of information related to travel from the banking world in Indonesia, before the Dutch and Japanese began to arrive. City Station You can feel a different atmosphere compared to stations in general. This is because the buildings are antic and stylish past so as to provide a different atmosphere. This train station was precisely built in 1929 and inaugurated directly by the General of the Dutch nation. At present the building is entered into a cultural preservation protected by the Jakarta City Government.

Jakarta private tour review

The driver (who spoke no English) and the guide (fairly fluent) were very nice. Very proud of their relatively new country. The most interesting part was the harbor tour: we actually got in a small boat and toured around to see the old wooden boats. And the Shadow Puppet theater demonstration. The lunch was very good and plentiful. We never saw a market or had any time to buy souvenirs. The Monument is OK, but not as interesting as the guide thinks it is! The car had AC, but the driver kept turning it down, so we were hot and spent a lot of time in traffic. It was OK, something to do on a stopover, but not awesome.

Operator response

the driver for the city tour does not have to speak fluent English, because we have provided a guide for you. the task of the guide introduces the culture, history of the places visited. forgive our team if you are not satisfied with your tour, we will try to do better in the future service. Indonesia is an independent country since August 17, 1945. Indonesia's history may be interesting to study, because it has many ethnic groups, cultures, and various languages.
