A famed market for manufacturing Mawa. Mawa is also known as khoya or khoa. It is a dairy product made from dried, evaporated milk solids. It is a key ingredient in many Indian sweets, especially in the northern parts of the country. This market also deals in precious and semi precious gems stones.

At the end of the bustling Tripolia Bazaar lies Maniharon ka Raasta, a street that still exudes the regal charm of the past. This extended market owes its existence to the modesty of its citizens. Maniharon Ka Raasta is renowned for its diverse collection of lac bangles, attracting women from far and wide. These bangles are adorned with precious and semi-precious stones, beads, crystals, and other exquisite embellishments. Legend has it that the skilled craftsmen who create these lac bangles were invited by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh from Manoharpur in Uttar Pradesh. Here, Muslim Manihari women not only manage the shops but also engage in the art of crafting these intricate bangles, infusing each piece with their artistic prowess.
Amidst the rhythmic clangs and clinks of metal on Thatheron ki Gali, the moments of tranquility emerge like elusive whispers. - Most of the shops and markets in the old city open by 10.30 / 11 am so the best recommended timing to start the tour is any time later on 11 am up to 5 pm. However, if you want to start even earlier and explore whatever is open during at that point in the time, please be our guests.
- Sundays in the old city are less eventful. Many local shops and markets have limited hours or remain closed. It might not be as enjoyable, so avoid it unless your schedule allows no other option. We'll strive to make your experience memorable regardless.
- All the places included in the tour are free of any entry ticket except for the Hawa Mahal and Swargasuli Tower where we're going to have a roadside view. Should you want to go inside, we're happy to take you in and your tour guide will help you skip the line to buy the tickets. Entry to those two sights closes approx. an hour before sunset time.
- Free of cost* stands as not being charged in terms of the tour price. Charges for any entry ticket/lunch/street food are yet to be paid by you.

It was my first time in Jaipur and this tour was an excellent introduction to this amazing city, full of life, colour and history. Gaurav, with his local knowledge of his city and its history, and excellent English, was the perfect guide, and great company too! He quickly picked up on our particular interests - the havelis and markets - and showed us places we could never have found on our own, without getting completely lost! Highly recommended!

We were a group of 4 on our first ever visit to India and decided on Abby & Scout Tours after extensive online research (huge shoutout with thanks to fellow reviewers!). The challenge: Hit all highlights of the Golden Triangle in 7 days plus shopping and foodie tryouts on the side. Transporting from one city to another took around 20 hours even though we took the flight from Jodhpur to Delhi. During the trip we developed a taste for Ayurvedic treatments and wanted to squeeze that into the schedule. Our visit coincided with Mr. Trump's visit to the great Taj Mahal hence itinerary was changed to accommodate the closure of the city blocks. The highlights: Not the sights, shopping or food (though important), but our guide Mr. Sabir Sheikh. He gave new definition to the term "super guide" as he went the extra mile to accommodate every little request we made, from the iconic pictures and must-try street food to the unique experiences, such as tuk tuk around the markets, riding in an open jeep to the Tiger Fort (sunscreen and scarf recommended), dropping in unannounced to a wedding (inspired by the 3 Idiots movie) and shopping at every opportunity we get (showcasing the bargaining powers of Mr. Sabir). Note VAT charges on clothing items and food vary but can add up to 20% of the total costs. Also special thanks to our driver, Mr. Jaypal-ji, a man of few words and very steady hands on the wheel, and our guide Mr. Suresh in Jodhpur, who took obvious pride in his city and the beautiful Mehrangarh Fort. The tour is highly recommended only if you're looking for sterling service and outstanding experiences in the Golden Triangle. To answer a question I frequently get: Is a tour guide necessary? For this particular trip, my short answer is yes because a) we did not have the luxury of time, b) we did not have the local knowledge nor speak the local language. Having an experienced tour guide and strong follow-up from Abby & Scout (which checked on our progress with Mr. Sabir constantly) afforded us peace of mind.
