Wished we could have spent more time in San Remo. The cappuccino and tiramisu delicious. The drinks in Dolcedacqua were great next to the river. I would have never gone if it wasn’t for this side tour.
Dear Kathleen, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the side tour and discovered places you might not have visited otherwise. It’s great to know you appreciated the cappuccino and tiramisu in San Remo, as well as the drinks by the river in Dolceacqua. We’re especially happy that the experience felt worthwhile and memorable for you. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again soon for another beautiful discovery!
Lots of flea market type shopping with significant free time to examine merchandise that could be found anywhere
Dear Ehayes, Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you had the opportunity to enjoy some free time during the tour. We understand that the shopping aspect may not have fully met your expectations, and we appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Your feedback is valuable and helps us continue to improve our experiences. We hope to have the chance to welcome you again and provide a tour that better matches your interests. TOUR AZUR TEAM
It was so fun to go shopping in Italy. It was a huge, I mean huge open market with so much to see. It was a good way to get some really great deals.
Dear Lesley, We appreciate your feedback. It is wonderful that you liked the open market of Italy. It is indeed huge and you can find there very good deals. We hope to see you again on another experience with Tour Azur. Tour Azur Team
It’s a hike through the mountains so if you tend to get motion sickness, this may not be the tour for you.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We're glad you rated the experience so highly. You're absolutely right, the drive through the mountains offers stunning views, but it can be winding. We always encourage guests who are prone to motion sickness to plan ahead so they can fully enjoy the day. We appreciate your honest feedback and hope to welcome you again on another tour! This was a fantastic and very pleasurable outing. Nora, our guide, was the best! She was friendly and very knowledgeable. The market in San Remo was amazing - lots of deals. And Aquadolce was a beautiful medieval town. We had the best pasta ever there for lunch. This was a True small group tour as advertised (3 guests), and we all received attention. If you love Italy, markets and fabulous views of the Mediterranean, it's recommended!
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a fantastic time exploring San Remo and the beautiful village of Apricale with Nora. She'll be so happy to know that her knowledge and warm personality made the day extra special. We’re also glad you enjoyed the delicious pasta and those unbeatable Mediterranean views! We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back on another tour soon! Tour Azur Team
This tour was not entirely what we expected- but it was still a good time nonetheless and it gave use the chance to "go to Italy' from France. Expect a long day- if it is summer sunscreen, a hat and water are a MUST. This is more of a self guided/on your own tour- the guide does explain history on the way and you learn interesting facts- but then you are left to your own devices- which my husband and I loved. we especially enjoyed walking ourselves up to the castle in Dolceaqua. The only reason I removed a star is the fact that we booked an English speaking tour- and instead were with individuals who spoke French (our guide was accommodating and explained things to us in English)....and our van had some mechanical issues. Overall this is a good value for the money.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed the day, especially your time exploring Italy and walking up to the castle in Dolceacqua — it’s a beautiful and peaceful spot. We’re also glad the semi-guided format suited you and your husband, allowing you to explore at your own pace while still learning along the way. Regarding the mixed-language group, we understand your concern. This situation doesn’t happen often, but as the tour doesn’t operate daily, we had to exceptionally combine guests to ensure the tour could still take place. Our guide did their best to accommodate everyone, and we’re happy to hear they provided explanations in English throughout the journey. We also apologize for the inconvenience caused by the mechanical issue in the van — your comfort is very important to us, and we’re working to ensure our vehicles meet the highest standards. A lot of people, a bit monotonous, very nice atmosphere, you get happy! Exciting vegetables and cheeses. I'll be happy to get back to you.
Dear Sheerin, Thank you for your kind words! We’re glad you enjoyed the lively atmosphere and the wonderful variety of vegetables and cheeses. It’s great to hear the experience brought you joy — we’d be happy to welcome you back anytime! Tour Azur Team
We spent a lovely day in Italy with our wonderful guide Nora! Traveled from Nice with dear friends (four of us) and enjoyed every moment. Charming Nora gave us fascinating information about the Italian Riviera -- history, climate, commerce, food and wine -- and expertly drove us along the coast and into the mountains from Nice to Ventimiglia, Bordeghera, Dolceacqua, Menton and back again. Highly recommend this tour!!!
Thanks for recommending Tour Azur and your guide Nora, and for leaving your review! The team are pleased that you enjoyed the tour. Sincerely, Tour Azur
The towns are fantastic! Especially San Remo! I loved the town and the market. Menton was also lovely and worth visiting. I really thought there was very little in Dolceacqua. We saw the old town, but very little was open. The restaurant in the square had delicious local wine, pasta and pizza. Very reasonably priced. We also had a very nice cappuccino. We spent the majority of our time there. Others in our group went to the Italian restaurant on the side of the road as you come into town not on the square, they said it was the worst meal (no pizza and overcooked cold pasta) and they tried to over charge them. Nicole was our tour guide. She was very informative and did a great job!
Dear Karl, Tour Azur is delighted to read that the tour met with your expectations. Thank you for choosing Tour Azur. Sincerely,
