Itinerary
Built on the Paraná River near the border between Brazil and Paraguay, the Itaipu Dam is the largest operational hydroelectric power plant in the world. On this panoramic sightseeing tour from Foz do Iguaçu, you’ll tour this engineering marvel, which generates a power of 12,600 megawatts, approximately 25% of the electricity consumed by Brazil and 95% of the energy consumed by Paraguay. Your guided sightseeing tour gives you an up-close view of the Itaipu Dam and offers you the chance to take some great photos! Your knowledgeable guide will be happy to answer any questions you may have. On this tour you will do the Panoramic Tour. As the ticket is not included, you will pay for it on the spot.: * The Panoramic tour : Watch a documentary film on the power plant. See the dam and spillway from the central observation deck (without entering the facility). The grandeur of a plant built between two countries, when revealed in numbers, is surprising: the Itaipu dam is 7,919 meters long and 196 meters high. But when viewed from close up and from various angles in a tour around the Itaipu Panoramic, it impresses even more and guarantees a unique and striking experience. In addition to the privileged view of the spillway at the top of the dam, the path still allows contact with nature and beautiful landscapes within the Itaipu Tourist Complex. * The Technical tour cannot be done in this tour.

I bought the Itaipu tour, and the truth is that it is not clearly stated that it does NOT include the entrance fee. The issue is that they charged us 106 dollars ONLY for the transfer to the dam, which is 8 km from the hotel. A taxi charges about 20 dollars for the same service... a theft. I recommend that you take a taxi and buy the tickets there; you will spend about 30% of what they charge here, especially if there are many of you.
Educational trip on the energy production for Brazil and Paraguay. A Bus was provided for hop on hop off
Dear Customer. Thank you very much for your review. We truly appreciate your feedback and are glad to know that you had a great experience on the tour. It will be a pleasure to welcome you again on another adventure with us. Best regards. Att, Giovanna Maldonado.
We did the panoramic, but I recommend the special (which goes denyto of Itaipu and also does the panoramic circuit). It's impressive and worth every penny.
Prezado Sr Aldo. Muito obrigado pelo review. Ficamos felizes que gostou do tour. Por favor conte conosco em futuras viagens. Obrigado.
This is not a tour but a taxi ride to the dam, where you have to pay for the entrance and tour when you get there. There was no sightseeing because all the driver did was picked us up from hotel and took to the dam. Do not get trapped in this scam.
The place is great to visit, but the price charged by Viator is very high for what is essentially a transfer from your hotel to the place and back. Once there, you pay an entry fee (definitely worth going for the more expensive internal tour, especially if you are interested in engineering). All of the time at the site is managed by the Itaipu Dam staff. Get a taxi there and save a lot!!
It is the second most fascinating attraction in Foz, second only to the Falls, they are always friendly, polite, priority for disabled and elderly people works and the Itaipu Iluminada tour is incredible, it is always worth it, it was my second visit with my mother and kids and they loved it, the musical show that precedes it is anthology. Looking at Itaipu as an engineering work is brilliant, not only technically but also in terms of the logistics of the place, first world!
Definitely worth it, beautiful surroundings and a 5 minute walk is also a large Ferris wheel. Entrance costs 48 BR and the park itself is not that big but the view is grand. Food and drinks very affordable.
Great tour, the driver was very friendly and sharing a lot of cool details and open for any questions. He let me do the tour at my own pace, which is always good. I extremely recommend it. The dam is amazing and great place to visit.
Dear Customer. Thanks a lot for the review. We are glad that you liked the tour. Please count on us on future trips. Thanks.
Beautiful experience in Blue park, the hotels accessible and clean, varied breakfast, on the 31st in the pedestrian a concert open to the public and so we receive the 2023
They charge R$154 for a panoramic tour on the bus, with a stop of 15 minutes each in 2 different viewpoints, after knowing the first viewpoints we have to go back to the buses and wait for release until the next viewpoints (we stayed longer on the bus than in the contemplation). The construction is pharaonic, but the view is not there these things, my feeling was of waste of time and money, so if n want to waste money and time in this beautiful place that is Iguaçu, avoid this tour. If you still want to make the ride, go on account and buy the ticket there, you will leave much cheaper and more comfortable going by Uber.
