Isle of Skye Highlights - Bespoke Private Tour for up to 7 guests

Description
Your journey to the Isle of Skye is a private experience designed entirely around you. Travelling in comfort with your own guide, the day can be shaped to match your interests and pace. The itinerary remains flexible so you can spend more time at the places that capture your imagination. The Isle of Skye is celebrated for its dramatic beauty, but it is also an island steeped in legend. As we travel through its glens, coastlines and mountains, I bring the landscape to life through stories that have echoed here for centuries. Many come from Gaelic and Norse traditions, telling of giants and ghosts, water horses and kelpies, saints and sinners, and the mysterious world of fairies and witches. More than a sightseeing tour, this is a journey into the spirit of Skye. My aim is to be your storyteller and guide, sharing not only the island’s remarkable places but also the legends, history and culture that make it unforgettable.

The Fairy Glen is a fantastical destination, known for its mystical and whimsical charm. This miniature landscape on Skye boasts enchanting geological formations that make it a unique and captivating destination. Its reputation as a place of myth and wonder is well-deserved, and a visit to The Fairy Glen promises to be a truly magical experience. This small and magical feature of the Island, dotted with gnarled rowan trees, was formed over 100,000 years ago by post-Glacier landslides, while years of erosion and the elements sculpted the Torridonian sandstone into unusual patterns of cone-shaped craggy hillocks, random boulders, tranquil lochans and even a basalt castle.
At Kyleakin, we invite you to take a stop and breathe in the breathtaking view of the Skye Bridge. Take a quick bathroom break and join us in the hunt for the elusive groatie buckie. It's a long day to Skye and back but the scenery on the drive is worth it! Hit quite a few of the Isle of Skye highlights, including several large coaches can't get to. Chris was wonderful: funny, knowledgeable, and attentive.
I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Macaulay Tours. My family and I (me, my wife, my mother in law, and our 10 month old son) booked a tour with Emma and Cash that we will never forget. Emma worked with my wife to plan a custom tour around our child’s transportation needs, my remote work needs, and the sites we wanted to see. With her expert recommendations, we were able to safely transport our child, see some unforgettable sites of the Scottish highlands including the Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, and Stirling Castle, and we were provided local knowledge and insight of both the past and present of the area to make the experience unique. Emma’s patience and understanding of the needs of a small child were invaluable on the tour (she was amazing with our little man!) and Cash’s warm personality and humor made the travel between our destinations as enjoyable as the destinations themselves. If we are ever fortunate enough to come back, they will be the first people we contact. If they are available, you should absolutely book them to maximize your experience. Thank you for everything Emma and Cash!
Hi Jeremy, thank you so much for the lovely review! It was a pleasure to welcome you and your family to the Highlands! Warm Regards Emma & Cash
Emma was an excellent guide. She didn’t get frazzled when I changed what we wanted to do and see at the last minute. She happily gave her expertise and insight on where to go and we had an amazing experience. She gave us detailed information on what we were seeing and the history behind every aspect of our trip. She was lovely to talk to and even went out of her way to help me recover a treasured bracelet that I had left in a hotel in Inverness. She drove out of her way to get it and then promptly mailed it to me. This is highly unheard of in these days and times. The Scottish people have all been wonderful and Emma is a real standout. I would highly recommend hiring her services anytime you want an excellent tour guide. ♥️
Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review! It was a pleasure to show you around the highlands!
Emma provides an exceptional service would highly recommend a tour with Macaulay travels to fully experience the Scottish highlands. 5 ⭐️ all round.
Great visit to Skye, seen more on a one day tour than expected. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Great value for money and guide was very accommodating when I booked at short notice due to a last minute surprise trip to Scotland.
Thank you for the lovely review 😊
Emma was awesome! Super informative, flexible, safe driver, and very fun! She took us to some amazing spots and made sure we got the full experience of the Highlands and the Isle of Skye! 10/10 would recommend!!
Thank you Bryan for the lovely review!
Emma @macaulaytravels is an amazing tour guide. She is knowledgeable, professional, warm and pleasant. We toured Inverness and the Isle of Skye with Emma and her very comfortable air conditioned Mercedes van. When our tickets on the ferry were cancelled Emma arranged to pickup our family from Mallaig and drive us onto the Isle of Skye providing Scottish history, legends and myths along the way. Emma is passionate about sharing her love of Scotland and her hospitality is first class. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. You would be lucky to have her as your guide through Scotland. Thank you Emma for making our trip to Scotland even more special.
Thank you soo much for the lovely review 😊
