It was an absolutely perfect day and a great tour. We saw so much of the island our tour guy Alessandro was phenomenal. He knew so much about the island and was so kind as a matter of fact, he was such a good tour guy. We think we might come back and stay on the island. The next time the only thing I wish I knew was that the shops closed down in the afternoon we would like to have shopped a little And not the fault of VIATOR but when we return to the ferry station, we found out that they had canceled our ferry with no notification. Luckily, we were there early so they rebooked us by going back to Naples and then onto Sorrento.
Highly personalized tour day on the beautiful and historically fascinating island of Ischia. Visited the historic castle, circumnavigated the island to see all the towns, beautiful beaches, landscapes and stops wherever we wanted. I had been to Ischia many times before but this was my husband’s first visit.
A great tour of the highlights of Ischia. Our guide Carla was friendly and informative. She made the experience very enjoyable
I am leaving this review only because I expected a great deal more from a private tour that cost over $1300.00 including the ferry and no food or drink for 2 people. Our guide Paolo spoke poor English, was not engaged and provided minimal information. We did not actually see anything other than drive by like a hop on hop off tour. The entire guided tour lasted from 10:45 to 1:15. He dropped us for lunch at 1:15 we finished eating at 2:00 and we were returned to the port area to wonder on our own until 5:25. Complete waste of money. Maybe another guide and driver would make it wonderful. Luck of the draw.
We had the most beautiful day in Ischia with Carla! She was amazing—as a local, she showed us hidden, non-touristy spots and even helped us find some long-lost relatives on the island. What an incredible experience! Having a driver at our disposal really maximized our time on this beautiful island. You might not know, but Ischia is one of the largest islands in Italy, so if you only have one day to visit, having a driver or at least a car is essential.
This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Amalfi. We took the ferry from Sorrento to Ischia to be greeted upon arrival by Marianna. She showed us her beautiful island and spoke about the history and culture with such pride and enthusiasm. The pace was perfect as I was with my Godmother who has a bit of trouble walking. We stopped for a gelato (baba and fig and walnut were great recommendations for flavors to try). We had an incredible lunch overlooking the sea with our guide and got to know her a bit more personally which was so nice. If you are going to Amalfi, do not miss this amazing island. It is so worth the visit and there is no better ambassador than Marianna. If you can spend more than one day, book an overnight at Mezzatorre Hotel and Thermal Spa! Bellisimo!
This tour was an absolute highlight of our trip! Mariana was exceptional, and the island of Ischia proved to be enchanting. The tour operator provided us with all the necessary information to make the journey from Sorrento to Ischia, guiding us every step of the way. Our guide exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend taking this tour – you won't regret it
Marianna was waiting for us at the dock and was very informative. This would be a great tour on your first day so that you could see the entire island and be able to create a plan for the week. The only disappointment was that we did not have the ability to personalize the tour.
This tour was wonderful! Our tour guide, Carolina, was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. She went out of her way to ensure we had a unique and most fulfilling experience. We got to see the entire island and learn the history and culture of the area while also incorporating specific things we wanted to do/see.
