I had booked for the coastal tour but ended up with the round the Ireland Eye tour. This was lovely but not what I had expected/booked. I was concerned about safety, as there was no one to help us aboard; my friends were elderly people. The skipper had all the jobs so he was checking the tickets at the entrance and not able to help people aboard. There were NO crew members, only the skipper. It wasn't clear where the life jackets were. The piped acoustics were unclear, you just couldn't hear them, so you didn't quite know what you were seeing. The skipper occasionally gave us some live info as we cruised, and this was useful and audible. Overall I was disappointed with the tour. There was nothing 'personal' about it.
Lovely trip which was suitable for families. Very good guide and commentary with lots of local knowledge
We had a great boat trip around Ireland's eye! Nice clean boat, great staff with good commentary! Would highly recommend!
Thanks for your feedback. Delighted to hear you enjoyed your cruise with our crew. Regards, Howth Cliff Cruises team.
Great boat trip from Howth. Amazing to see so many coastal birds so close to Dublin. Our captain made an extra effort to make sure we saw some puffins, and we also got to see a grey seal. I would really recommend this to anyone with any interest in sea birds, but also in general just a nice trip to do.
Dear Zanna, Thank you for your lovely review. We love to hear about customers enjoying their time with us and getting to experience all that Howth & the coast has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you onboard in the future! Regards, Howth Cliff Cruises team.
Beware the details -- description said land in the island but itinerary says just cruise around the cliffs. We were a group of 17 who were put on a boat that was too big to land no matter what. We complained constantly and a smaller boat was sent to us that we switched into to land on the island. All was good after that except one of our group didn't make it into the smaller boat and was left alone to do the tour she didn't want to do. It felt like this was a scam to get as many people as possible into the big boat and not have to do the island drop off and collection. This was my third attempt in as many years to land so I was definitely not looking to do the same cliffs again. Id only recommend if this was made clear at bookings and before getting in the boats in future.

I really enjoyed the tour. Our captain was a nice guy. We were a rather small group so it wasn't too crowded. He pointed out the puffin that swam close to the boat. During the tour he played some music and we stayed out longer to enjoy the sunset. Overall a great experience that I can only recommend and that I would do again.
