Itinerary
After being picked up at our hotel in Iquitos, we’ll head into the jungle to board a boat and begin our tour along the Amazon River. During the trip, we’ll admire the lush vegetation of the rainforest. With a little luck, we’ll spot native wildlife such as the tiny marmoset, sloths, poison dart frogs, or the black caiman. Next, we’ll visit a snake sanctuary to observe fascinating species like the anaconda from a safe distance, followed by a tasting of traditional liqueurs made from tree bark and roots. A typical Amazonian lunch will be served at a local restaurant before meeting the Yahua people, who will introduce us to their culture, dances, and rituals. To conclude the adventure, we’ll set out in search of the river’s famous pink dolphins before returning to your hotel in Iquitos.

Not impressed. Very, very underwhelming. You get picked up and then go to a market where you see some interesting things. Then you wait an hour for the boat to be ready. Two hours of nothing basically. Then you take a 5 min boat ride to a “tribe” that’s inauthentic and asks for money. Nothing like a tribe in the actual rainforest. Then you continue down the river, which is quite relaxing. You visit a small sanctuary where you see caged sloths, monkeys and one anaconda. Then you drink some random liqueurs… Then walk 15 min to the camp to eat a terrible lunch (chewy meat, some rice…). If you want a true Amazon experience, this is far from it 😁🤣😔😔😔
