Itinerary
Hear all about the history of Urquhart Castle
Cruise up Loch Ness and possibly spot the elusive "Nessie"
Culloden Battlefield is one of Scotland’s most powerful and emotional historic sites. On 16 April 1746, this windswept moor near Inverness became the scene of the final Jacobite Rising, where the forces of Bonnie Prince Charlie were defeated by the Duke of Cumberland’s army in a battle that lasted less than an hour but changed the Highlands forever.
Free time in Inverness offers a relaxed and enjoyable taste of Highland city life. Stroll along the peaceful banks of the River Ness, cross the charming suspension bridges, or browse the independent shops and cafés tucked around the Victorian Market and High Street. You might choose to visit Inverness Castle for panoramic views, enjoy fresh local seafood in a riverside restaurant, or simply soak up the friendly atmosphere of the capital of the Highlands before continuing your Scottish adventure.
