Itinerary
Come with me for a panoramic tour around the whole of Loch Ness. Take in the breath taking views from every angle while we take our time to explore Loch Ness and the surrounding Towns and Villages. Loch Ness is the largest body of freshwater by volume in Great Britain and holds an estimated 263 billion cubic feet of water. Whilst being a stunning location in its own right situated within the Great Glen (Glen Urquhart), It is also the home to the very elusive Loch Ness Monster, aptly named 'Nessie'.
A beautiful small village at the very bottom of Loch Ness and also a place famous for the Caledonian Canal Locks, five of the canal locks can be seen here. Full of Charm and Character and also offers one of the best views of Loch Ness as well as providing some great tourist shops and plenty of cafe's and restaurants for Lunch options. *Lunch not included. Fort Augustus is located on the southern tip of Loch Ness on a section of the Great Glen Way. It is a small quaint village with a population of only around 650 people however during the summer months this lovely little village has a great atmosphere and buzz about it.
Take in the astounding beauty of the River Moriston Falls. The River flows directly into Loch Ness. At Invermoriston we will take a short walk through a stunning native woodland to reach the hidden gem of Invermoriston Falls which flows directly in to Loch Ness. We will have time to explore the summer house which has been described as a 'Romantic Victorian Folly', built by a former Laird of Invermoriston for his guests to watch the Salmon leaping. *Potential to see Salmon Jumping up the Falls at certain times throughout the year
Drumnadrochit is another small village within the Great Glen and it stands at an outlet of the River Enrick on the West Shore of Loch Ness. Drumnadrochit is famous for its connection to the Loch Ness Monster and the two exhibition centres located within the Village - The Loch Ness Centre and Nessie land! (Entry not included in tour). Within the village there are many lovely small shops and art galleries to visit as well as the smallest craft Gin Distillery in Scotland, the award winning Great Glen Gin where all of the gin is produced within one Gin Still called 'Jacqueline'. Time of course included to visit the local attractions and the Nessie shop where you can purchase all of your Loch Ness Monster Memorabilia

We can collect you from any hotel or accommodation in Inverness or the surrounding area, as well as from the cruise ship port in Invergordon. For cruise ship passengers, once you disembark, please follow the pedestrian route towards Invergordon town centre. As you exit the service base, you will come to a pedestrian crossing. Please cross the road, where I will be waiting for you. It typically takes around one hour for the ship to dock and for passengers to disembark. A fantastic day touring this beautiful part of Scotland. Our guides were informative, professional, friendly and super-helpful. We could not have asked for a better day!!
This was a private tour with a great guide. She is a native to the area and very knowledgeable about history, places and the best local places to stop shop and dine, even for people with dietary needs. Lochness was beautiful and we saw things the big buses didn’t go to. She stayed when we wanted and left when we wanted but had us back to the cruise ship right on time. The best part is she has such great English skills everyone could understand everything she said! I am loving these private tours and this one was wonderful!
Thank you for the wonderful review! Safe onward travels!
We did a tour with Emma a few weeks ago and time got away from me since we got home. I can not go without says though, we had an amazing day on our Private Highlands tour. Emma made sure we made it to all the places we wanted to see and some others as well. It was a day of waterfalls, nature, castles, highland coos, a distillery tasting, a battlefield and standing stones all while hearing stories and history along the way. We recommend a day with Emma so highly. It was truly one of the best days of our trip!
Hi Wendee, Thank you for the lovely review! It was a pleasure to tour with you and your family / friends!
Emma provided our group of 7 a wonderful tour of the area. I have been on a lot of private tours and Emma’s attention to the little things that made us feel welcomed and comfortable was exceptional. One example is that she uses a mic connected to her van’s sound system while driving so that everyone in the van can hear her speak. Emma is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. She is an authentic local who will take good care of you and provide you with an exceptional tour.
Thank you soo much for the wonderful review.
Emma was welcoming from the start. Interesting, factual and entertaining as she introduced us to the Inverness/Invergordon countryside. A great day!
Hi Robin, thank you soo much for the wonderful review! It was a pleasure to show you around the Highlands! Warm Regards Emma
Emma Macaulay was absolutely wonderful. We experienced an up close encounter with coos, waterfalls, castles and quaint villages. She was very professional and listened to our needs which made our tour exceptional. Can’t thank her enough for the great memories
Hi Jodi, Thank you soo much for the wonderful review! It was a pleasure to spend the day with you!
Emma was a delight to tour with and I highly recommend her services. We were brought in a circle all of the way around Loch Ness, including the far side of the lake where the big ship tour buses were not able to maneuver. We had plenty of stops and Emma gave us enough information while driving to help us customize the tour perfectly.
Thank you for the lovely review! It was a pleasure to show you around!
