A visit to The Singleton Distillery, on the edge of the Black Isle in the Highlands west of Inverness, is a delight to both the eye and the palate. In the heart of the Black Isle, near the popular North Coast 500 and Inverness, the distillery re-launched in July 2022 with an exciting new look and range of tours and experiences. Spending time in Inverness is at the top of every visitor’s list when they find themselves in the Highlands. Often referred to as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands. This is some free time for you to explore the city, including the Castle, Victorian Market, River Ness and some shopping.
Reelig Glen is a narrow, steep-sided gorge, cut by the rushing waters of the Moniack. The woodland is a mixture of old conifer and broadleaved trees, but its real glory is a stand of Douglas Fir trees that are well over 100 years old. They soar above you to a height of about 170 feet (50 metres). One old giant measured over 200 feet (64 metres) in the year 2000 – the tallest tree in Britain at the time. After a local competition, it was named Dùghall Mòr – Big Douglas!
Loch Ness is brimming with history, and tales of the world's shyest monster. You might just spot Nessie. But the real stars of the Loch are its castles, monuments and scenery. So all-aboard one of our cruises for a seat to one of the greatest shows on earth. You have to sail it to believe it.
Discover more than 1,000 years of stirring history centred on the Great Glen. The magnificently situated Urquhart Castle, on the shore of Loch Ness, has seen some of the most dramatic chapters in our nation’s story.
Great Glen is both Scotland's newest and, proudly, its smallest craft distillery. Harnessing the elements of a wild place, our smooth, earthy gin is our love letter to nature. Whether sipped by the water's edge on a summers evening or enjoyed on wintery nights by the fire, this gin is the perfect companion.

We had an AMAZING time on this tour. Our guide, Steffen, was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable. We loved driving around and learning more about the history and the highlands. He even played the bagpipes for us at the end of our tour. I would highly recommend Go Highland Tours (or Whiskey and Tweed which is Steffen's tour company as well). If I come back to the Scottish Highlands, I will plan on booking with them again.
I contacted Alistair several weeks prior to our scheduled trip. We successfully collaborated to develop an itinerary that proved to be exceptionally suitable for our needs. Our primary destination was Brodie Castle, a location of significant personal importance as it shares my maiden name. Alistair provided a wealth of information and engaging anecdotes about the region during our journey, and the scenic routes he selected were truly remarkable.
Wonderful tour. Alasdair was a great guide , friendly and knowledgeable. Strongly recommend tour group
We had an awesome time with our guide George on this tour! He let us lead the way on where we wanted to go, but gave us great suggestions on available options and how much time to allow for each one. We managed to fit in a lot of activities in the amount of time we had off the ship. I would highly recommend him!
Our personalized tour was fabulous. Even before we started, I knew it would be great, due to great communication with George, co-owner of Go Highlands, who helped iron out our personalized itinerary. Alastair, the other co-owner and our driver/guide, was terrific. All 6 of us agreed that he was very informative and personable, providing historical information as well as general information about the area and Scotland. We even did a few extra things in the time we had, which was a lovely bonus. I have booked many Viator experiences and I wholeheartedly would recommend these gentlemen and their small business. This was one of the best Viator tours I've booked. Thx George and Alastair
We booked a private tour from the cruise port with Go Highlands. What a great experience! What a beautiful place with so much to see and experience, but a highlight for us was our driver Rodger. Rodger took us to some amazing sites and even some hidden gems throughout the day. He had a great personality and sense of humor that kept us laughing the whole time. We had a great time and would highly recommend!
Emma was a great guide. We had a private tour with 6 in our group. She planned oyr day to what we wanted to see. She even had a wee dram of whiskey for us. The weather was rainy but we were still able to see the dolphins. Highly recommend doing the private tours as you aren’t stuffed on a bus with 50 other people.
Alistair was a wonderful guide. He brought fresh perspective to the places we went. He was especially outstanding at Culloden where his military experience really came to the fore. The restaurant he chose for us was great. We recommend him highly.
WOW! WOW! WOW! Absolutely AMAZING! BEST DAY EVER! Go Highlands Tours was INCREDIBLE! We’ve done several private tours around Europe over the years & this beat them all! We had a large group of 8 (with ages ranging from 19-78) all strong headed women with 1 male. George was the perfect guide to handle our crazy group. Lots of character & stories of his childhood growing up there. We hit so many sites & learned so much history & stories of their culture. We laughed so hard & saw so much. George knew everyone & by the time we left we felt like family. It was hands down the best money we spent! All of us agreed that it was our favorite tour & would love to go back & do it again. We are all sad to leave this sweet country that we have felt so welcomed in. Thank you Go Highlands Tour for an AMAZING DAY!!!
George with Go Highlands was the ultimate tour guide! He gave us a lot of history, showed us specific areas that were of interest to us, catered the day to our wishes, and we had wonderful conversation with him all day. He made us feel like we were old friends. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GO HIGHLANDS and will book them the next time I am in Scotland.
