Itinerary

15 min

Lauterbrunnen is situated in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. With its 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, colourful alpine meadows and lonely mountain inns, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland.

15 min

Lauterbrunnen's landmark and Switzerland's highest freefalling waterfall can be explored during summer season from behind by way of a purposely-built rock gallery. During the high season, the waterfall is illuminated in the evening. The Staubbachfall inspired Goethe to write his poem «The song of ghosts over waters».

60 min

Mürren – a former settlement of people from the Lötschen valley in the Valais, which still remains recognisable today from the design of the houses and the pronunciation of the Mürren dialect – is the highest, continually inhabited village settlement in the canton of Bern and lies on a terrace at 1650 metres, high above the Lauterbrunnen valley. A double-cable ropeway leads up onto the plateau from Lauterbrunnen, while a cableway runs from Stechelberg, past turbulent waterfalls and craggy rock faces, into the centre of the car-free village of Mürren, and further to the Schilthorn at 2970 metres.

30 min

The arrival alone is spectacular – a cable-car takes you high over the rocks to Gimmelwald (1400 m). The intact, pedestrian, Alpine village with its 13 farms and many houses decorated with an array of flowers, has maintained its original character. Above all, families and young people from all corners of the world come together here.

The Trümmelbach Falls are the world's only glacier waterfalls that are accessible underground by lift, galleries, tunnels, paths and platforms. They alone carry the meltwater of the glaciers from the Jungfrau down to the valley - up to 20,000 liters of water per second. The water carries with it over 20,000 tons of boulders and scree per year and causes the entire mountain to shudder and make a thundering noise.

45 min

The Eiger village of Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland lies embedded in a welcoming and green hollow, surrounded by a commanding mountainscape with the Eiger north face and the Wetterhorn. This mountainscape and the numerous lookout points and activities make Grindelwald one of the most popular and cosmopolitan holiday and excursion destinations in Switzerland, and the largest ski resort in the Jungfrau region.

30 min

Iseltwald is a picturesque village nestled on the southern shore of Lake Brienz in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Renowned for its serene beauty and stunning turquoise waters, it offers a tranquil escape amidst a dramatic alpine backdrop. The village gained recent international fame as a filming location for the popular K-drama "Crash Landing on You," drawing visitors to its iconic pier and charming lakeside setting.

60 min

The Giessbach brook tumbles in 14 stages, over a length of 500 meters and out of the high valleys of the Faulhorn area down to Lake Brienz. Historic Grand Hotel Giessbach is located at the foot of this nature spectacle. The hotel is accessible by means of Europe's oldest funicular.

15 min

Interlaken lies in the Bernese Oberland on an alluvial plain, between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. The vacation destination, which is presided over by the three mighty mountains, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, is the starting point for numerous activities. The town offers excellent shopping and a wide variety of local and international restaurants.

Admission not included30 min

The St. Beatus Caves high above Lake Thun are a chance to discover a unique underground world. Visitors can explore around one kilometre in the depths of the Niederhorn massif, following a well-designed and safely lit path. As they immerse themselves in this unique subterranean environment, visitors will discover stalactites and stalagmites that have been formed by nature over millions of years.

Fantastic views, but expensive.

The scenery was incredible but the driver was not local. English was poor but the driver was friendly.

Operator response

Hi Mr Lance Dosch from Arizona. You are a horrible racist. You complain about the tour guide not being local Swiss. But we never promised an ethnically Swiss person (read the tour description!). Expecting to be served by a white person is the perfect example of racism and entitlement. About the tour guide not speaking English well: This is total rubbish. He has an accent yes, since he is not from the USA or UK. But we never had any complaints about language and he did many tours mainly with Americans. But I know why you are upset, you were upset about not being served by an ethnically white person. It is so disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself Mr Lance Dosch. You also complain about the tour being expensive. This tour is only expensive because you bought it on Viator. Viator has 30% commission fee. So in fact the tour is not expensive. It is your fault that you buy it on Viator and not from us directly at much cheaper price. You can choose freely where you buy things. You are happy to pay hundreds of USD more because you want to buy it on Viator, but then call the tour expensive. Simply stupid! Also, Interlaken is the most expensive destination in Switzerland. Of course if you want to travel there you pay a premium for everything. There are thousands of mountains in Switzerland that look the same as Interlaken, but you decided to go to the most expensive place and complain it is expensive. This is totally stupid. If it is too expensive for you then don't buy it! You have also been very rude to interrupt me and hang up the phone call when I called you to explain the situation. Writing rubbish online and then not facing the discussion shows what a disgraceful cowardly person you are.
