I took this funicular with my husband and 13 year old son in June 2026. The ride was smooth and made a few stops before Hungerburg. We walked around a little bit then decided to walk down to the Alpenzoo. Took about 20 minutes The gravel trail takes you through the trees with beautiful scenery. We were able to walk to a funicular stop near the zoo.
The funicular was unique and enjoyable. The view from the top was amazing. Just what we were hoping for.
Expensive but worth every penny. Go all the way to the top
It was okay. The only thing that you can do is look over the city. There is one restaurant and a museum and that's it. You can buy the ticket for the zoo that is a station before the Hungerberg. We went yesterday and it was really overcrowded. You can also buy the ticket to the top of Innsbruck but in my opinion it was a bit too much almost 100€ for two people. I wish there would be more to see but it is what it is.
We took the Nordkette cable car to Hungerburg from Innsbruck. There was no wait. The car takes approximately 75 people at a time in 5 or 6 separate cabins. There is no step free access at Hungerburg so you will need to carry any chairs etc. The view from there was great. Toilets available near the top.
Fantastic a truly memorable trip, great journey up on funicular then 2 cable cars, outstanding views highly recommended
Our trip to the top of Innsbruck was unforgettable. The breathtaking views of the city left us in awe. Relaxing on deckchairs and watching the vibrant activity around us made the experience even more special. Truly, it was the highlight of our Innsbruck adventure. We arrived early so it wasn't overcrowded and managed to get some fantastic pictures.
A great trip to the Top of Innsbruck. Free mini tobogganing and great views all round. Something you definitely have to do if visiting Innsbruck. Worth getting the Innsbruck card which includes this.
If you are in Innsbruck then you must have done this. In a short time, 3 separate cable cars take you to the top of Innsbruck. Go early because later in the day it gets crowded and only a limited number of people can come at a time. We were unlucky that it was foggy after the 2nd cable car but still enjoyed the earlier view from the cable car. However, it is not cheap.
Quick line with advance ticket going up great views and cute town Harder to get back down - longer line and packed. To get to top and best views need to do next ride on nordkette
