Indian/Hindu Cultural Immersion Tour

Description
We conduct our tours in partnership with the local indigenous communities, and help sustain their traditional cultures and lifestyles. As opposed to the usual sight-seeing tours, each tour focuses on only one specific ethnicity and provides a more in-depth introduction, as well as personal interactions with community members and their daily lives. Our amenities are also higher-quality and more extensive than offered by other tours, and our licensed tour guides, averaging 20+ years experience, more qualified.

While Indians have lived in Myanmar for many centuries, most of the ancestors of the current community emigrated to Burma after the start of British rule in the mid-19th century where they have become a fixture of the traditional society. This tour explores the origins of Indian migration to Myanmar and includes curated visits to Hindu temples, Indiatown’s vibrant culture and architecture, as well as select community buildings which embody past and present Indian influences on their dynamic community. Tour includes a comprehensive introduction to the history, architecture, culture and religious beliefs of this and other temples. Also included is a walking tour through Yangon’s vibrant Indiatown, along with its famed street markets.

Unique and fascinating tour. I especially liked the senior Hindu priest’s sharing with us his temple’s history and beliefs. Plus a great meal. As they say here, Jezzubah!
Thank you for your kind words. Glad you enjoyed your time with us.
The guide was great and understood that we were vegetarian - took us to a nice Indian restaurant for lunch. They kept asking if we wanted water - very attentive. The tour itself was very good. Very well organised, detailed information was given at each attraction. We really enjoyed our day and would recommend it to anyone interested in the Indian culture/history in Yangon.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are pleased you enjoyed the experience. Join us again on your next visit.
