An excellent tour with a very knowledgeable guide. Roger was very friendly and has a real passion for his subject. Nice variety of locations covering many topics about the battles in Flanders. Also the length is just right to see enough but have time to enjoy the rest of your day. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a battlefield tour from Ypres. It starts from the station so arriving by train is easy or by car, there is lots of free parking too.
This tour is a must do. Roger is amazing and very knowledgeable. He is passionate on the subject and really took interest in every person in the group to make the tour very personable. I would highly recommend this tour and Roger
Roger our guide was fantastic, great explanation of all of the sights very knowledgeable and really gave context to the visit. Would highly recommend the tour.
Roger was very knowledgeable. The tour was the perfect length so that we didn’t feel overwhelmed with information. He picked us up at the train station and dropped us off in the town square by request. Highly recommended!
If you want a Primer on WWI when it comes to trench fighting in Belgium 1915-1917 this is the place to start. Roger asks so many questions and provides so much content and context you can feel like you are there. Having a dreary overcast day also help to set the mood!
Highly recommend this tour! Roger is incredibly personable and knowledgeable. I was a little hesitant to book at first because I thought we wouldn’t be able to see much in just 3.5 hours, but I was completely wrong!! It felt like we experienced a full day tour in that time, yet we never once felt rushed. Roger cares about his guests and takes an interest in why you’re there. One man in our group had a family member whose name was on a war memorial. Although it wasn't a scheduled stop, Roger made sure to include it so he could see his family members name and the place where he was possibly found. Roger is easy to talk to and loves to share his seemingly endless knowlegde. Truly an unforgettable experience!
We did the 3.5 hour tour with Roger. It was soon obvious that he is an expert in his field and provided a very informative Flanders Field tour which he then tailored for the group.
Personalized, very informative and not rushed.
Excellent day trip visiting some of the memorials around Ypres
Just a great all around history of the war. Many visits with different aspects of the war. He can get as specific on details as the group wants.
