This route is a real time machine where each street becomes a theatre stage and each monument a vibrant witness to history. Why is this experience unique? Equipped with headphones, you walk guided by artistic narrative, enveloping music and a sound universe created for this journey. Gradually, the facades are transformed into a living decor. A real beautiful shared moment. This music and this soft voice accompany me in the heart of the city, yet restless and noisy. And it is precisely this contrast that makes the experience so strong: little by little, I am completely immersed, with the impression of being out of time. In this special bubble, I discover unexpected things in places I thought I knew. All this, carefully framed in a friendly and warm atmosphere, which also encourages beautiful encounters. In short, I highly recommend this beautiful walk.
I took part in this immersive walk in Lille and came away really impressed. It was a very nice surprise, an activity both original and unexpected. The experience is rich, both sonically and emotionally, and it allowed me to discover Lille in a completely different way. I learned things, but most importantly, I felt the city differently — which makes me want to know even more. The facilitators mentioned that this walk is also available through a Citywhispers app, with other routes in different cities. I intend to try them on my next trips. This immersive walk is far from a classic tourist visit. It is a real meditative break. To the rhythm of the voice in the headset, we let ourselves be carried by the soul of the city. I loved this approach that brings buildings back to life: you can feel that they keep in them the memory, memories and emotion of those who passed through them. Audio guidance is fluid and plunges us into deep introspection while exploring the streets. It is poetic, touching and very immersive. One small suggestion: To make the experience even more sensory, it would be wonderful to add some tactile elements. For example, invite to touch a particular stone or create a small “lucky charm” ritual on an old wall to further anchor emotion in the material. An enchanted break that I highly recommend!
