Incredible experience. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to give us San Sebastián recs even after the tour was over. The owner of the farm was incredibly nice and gave a very interesting tour and tasting
We enjoyed this experience with Paul, our guide. We learned a lot about Basque county and the cheese making process and there was plenty to taste. My daughter got to feed the sheep and there were some local cats as well.
Thank you for the review! We're glad everything went well and that you took home good memories :)
The visit was wonderful and the treatment excellent. The Idiazábal cheese is delicious and everything was very well organized. Very positive evaluation.
Gracias por compartir tu opinión, Mikel. Nos alegra mucho que te haya gustado el tour ¡Esperamos verte en otra experiencia pronto!
We enjoyed a very special day in the Basque Country's interior, far from the beaten track. We learned a lot about the cheesemaking process and the service was exceptional.
We're happy you enjoyed the tour, Josu. Thanks for choosing us!
Perfect for a famility trip. With hotel pick up our guide drove us up to the mountains to visit a boutique famili owned cheese farm. My kids loved to see the sheeps and the other animals. They owner showed us all the facilites and the tasting was enough for a morning meal. Great tour to avoid the crowds and learn more about Basque Gastronomy.
Great to know everything was to your liking. See you soon!
We did the family tour. We are cheese lovers and had this visit long pending. It was all very pleasant and easy. The Ane Guide treated us fantastically and her explanations were enjoyable and accurate. Highly recommended for cheese lovers, animals and nature.
Nos alegramos de leer que todo haya salido a vuestro gusto. ¡Un saludo!
Unfortunately I do not speak Spanish or Basque and the tour to the farm/factory was all in those two languages so the film shown at the farm was incomprehensible to me. The guide/driver did speak English but he could not devote his time to me or speak over the commentary on the film. The Idiazabal is sheep's cheese and un-pasteurised so I didn't think I could bring it back into the UK but in this I was wrong I could have brought some home for personal use, the samples I had at the farm were delicious, I'm sorry I did not buy some. The tourist office who sold me the tour were confused when I returned to them to tell them about the tour they apparently thought the tour would be in English, clearly they did not know what they had sold me! The tour started at a lookout but it was raining and the view was obscured by the low cloud and heavy rainfall. We were exceptionally lucky to see a heard of sheep being driven up to the hills for the summer, this occurs at the start of May, shepherd leading and Basque sheep dog at the rear of the flock.
The cheese was AMAZING. And Begonia was a lovely host, guide and driver. We had a lovely time hearing about the cheese making process, meeting some of the sheep, and of course tasting the incredible end result. Let's hope the cheese we bought lasts more than a one sitting when we get home - it is so delicious it becomes difficult to stop eating it :D
Everything was wonderful and educational! The guide is very nice, the sheeps adorable, the farmer super knowledgeable and charismatic.
Imma old was an incredibly knowledgeable, interesting, and kind tour guide who took his time to show us the beautiful Basque countryside. Our tour of the farm was just as lovely, and having the opportunity to break bread and taste cheese with a passionate artisan was really delightful. Would recommend that visitors who are passionate about the quality of food go on this tour!
