Amazing experience! Highly recommend!

Amazing experience! Our guide Ines was passionate, fun, and created an amazing experience for our group. Going through a glacier and seeing ice caves is a once in a lifetime experience and we highly recommend going with Katlatrack.

Icecaves - ,♡♡♡♡♡ katlatrack.is

Guðjón was a great driverguide for this 2.5 to 3 hour tour. We all did enjoy fully all the beautiful view at the caves and the information on June 30th, 2026. Katlatrack is the rignt company to book with to see icecaves. Thank you Guðjón. Sólveig Dagmar.

Out of this world experience

Amazing guide, really comfortable and safe trip. The most incredible landscape and ice caves out of this world! Highly recommended.

Really unique and...

Really unique and memorable experience to drive into a glacier, walk across the glacier, and see an ice cave. Gudjon was a great guide. Very patient with the group, and kept the tone relaxed. We learned about the glaciers and how the ice caves form, but not an information overload.

An eye popping adventure not to be missed

An eye popping tour with a top company. From the beginning, the staff at the booking desk were so helpful - even called the driver of the current tour to check what the visibility was like out there. So i booked onto the next tour. Our guide kept us entertained with interesting info, personal stories and Icelandic music. At the caves, currently there are two sections to walk through, both unique in design. Plenty of opportunity to take photos. The guide was happy to take all the group shots. It was fun and amazing. Highly recommend this company. Fyi, all the tour companies go to the same cave, just at different times. I saw the Troll.is buses there too.

SPECTACULAR!

SPECTACULAR! This outing was amazing and beyond my expectations! The landscapes we saw were astounding and unlike any natural sights we’d seen before. The company provided crampons for our shoes that were easy to wear and walk in. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and conservation-minded. The hike itself was a slow pace and a bit steep at times but not overly strenuous. (I am not in shape and did just fine.) People in our small group ranged from about 6 to 70 years old. Conversely, if you’re looking for serious trekking, this isn’t it, but it is definitely out in nature and away from the crowds enough that it felt very special and unique and made me appreciate the natural world so much.

Amazing Experience

We learned much so much from our guide. It was an awesome experience. The climb up the glacier was cool, the ice caves were beautiful and the guide was outstanding. Don’t miss this.

Fun, but didn't get the full experience

Really nice guides and very fun. It almost got cancelled due to weather. They decided to go, anyway, but we were only able to do 3 of the 5 lines due to the high winds. I expected them to give us a discount. They did not.

Too expensive to walk 20 feet in an ice cave

Pretty much each group within our tour all said the same thing. The picture's online really exaggerate the experience. It is a 45-minute drive from the Vik pizza restaurant, a short hike and then a shuffle through, with many other tourist groups, an ice cave that is very brief. Pictures turn out amazing but for the price, if you think you will be spending more than 10 minutes inside the ice cave, you'd be mistaken. Guide said this season's ice cave was average to above average in length. Again, love the pictures we took but think the value was probably half of the price.

Lots of standing around for 100 food ice cave.

We did a lot of standing around, the icecave was crowded -and it was probably 15 minutes walk up and 15 back, and 3 minutes in a 100 foot ice cave - then standing around waiting for other groups to pass. The guide did not share very much information to fill the void of us standing around. I would say it was cool, if it was half the price and half the amount of time.
