Hunter Valley Wine Tour

Hunter Valley winery tour. The bus from Sydney will take you to the first winery, lunch with wine, the second winery and finally the chocolate factory where you can buy souvenirs. They could also taste carefully selected wines from each winery, and could purchase wines they liked from the tastings. I took my children with me (we were the only ones with kids, as expected), but I really enjoyed participating because our tour guide, Sota, showed me where I could see wild kangaroos and gently called out to me. We enjoyed not only wine, but also wineries and the hotel buildings where we had lunch. A day of satisfaction.

Great day trip

The tour guide is very responsible - the whole experience is also special! Even people who don't normally drink can come and see.

Huge disappointment

Tour was cancelled without notifying us ahead of time. Disappointed as we planned over six months in advance. When pickup was late I called and was informed tour had been cancelled. This after getting an email at 5:21 a.m. reminding us about it. Terrible customer service all around.

Operator response

Hi Gail, We're truly sorry for the disappointment caused by the cancellation of your Hunter Valley tour. Unfortunately, due to insufficient passenger numbers, we were unable to operate the tour on the scheduled date. As soon as this was confirmed, we contacted you several days in advance via the email address provided in your booking. We also offered alternative departure dates at no additional cost. Unfortunately, we didn't receive a response, and as a result we were unable to confirm an alternative arrangement before your travel date. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this caused and understand how disappointing it would have been after planning your trip. We always do our best to notify guests as early as possible and provide suitable alternatives whenever an unforeseen cancellation is necessary. We appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best with your future travels.

Decent

Very good tour, visited two wineries and a hotel restaurant for lunch, then a cheese shop and a chocolate shop, the last two mainly for shopping. Had plenty of wine and the guides at the vineyards were interesting, lunch was okay (salad and pasta with chicken or salmon). Had a smaller group of 14, don’t be alarmed if you get picked up at the hotel in a coach bus, we transferred into a smaller van bus; it seemed the company was corralling people from the hotels. Other tours I’ve been on benefitted from the guide narrating much of the trip so we got a little history lesson, but didn’t get so much of that in this trip. To the company, consider doing a cheese tasting plate and/or chocolate tasting in lieu of lunch since that’d be a more unique experience than eating at a hotel restaurant.

Good wine experience with a comfortable ride

My family and I went on this day tour and it was an enjoyable experience. Chen, our driver, was punctual picking us up from the designated hotel and was courteous and friendly. His assistant Frank was helpful with translation and attending to our requests. The 2 wineries we went, Audrey Wilkinson and Mountain Pleasant gave us a good range of white and red wine for tasting, and the ambience was nice. 2-course lunch was good with salad and burger or pasta. Wine was also offered at lunch. The ride to and from Hunter Valley was smooth and comfortable in a coach bus. Chen was a good driver. Yes, we would recommend this trip.
