Description

This isn't just "old jewelry." The Holy Crown of Hungary has a history more dramatic than a Netflix series—it’s been stolen, buried, lost, and returned by the U.S. government. You will stand in the massive, 27-meter-high Dome Hall, watched over by stoic guards with drawn sabers, to see the crown and its tilted cross up close. It’s the symbolic heart of the nation. You’ll ascend the Grand Stairway, a space so opulent it makes most European palaces look like a DIY renovation. Imagine walking past massive granite columns—of which only 12 exist in the entire world—under ceilings painted by Károly Lotz. Every inch of the walls is covered in gold leaf and intricate frescoes that tell the story of a thousand-year-old kingdom. f you are between 6-24 and have a valid Student Card you can choose the Youth tickets type

Booking a tour of the Hungarian Parliament isn't just a building walk-through; it’s a deep dive into the "Golden Age" of Budapest. As one of the largest and most expensive legislative buildings in the world (housing roughly 40kg of 22-carat gold), the experience is designed to be as grand as the history it holds. If you are between 6-24 and have a valid Student Card you can choose the Youth tickets type

Hungarian Parliament Review

Everything was great but checkin was a little difficult as we arrived a little early and rep had not yet arrived so not sure if we were in the wrong place. Not a big issue.

Operator response

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are happy that you were satisfied during your visit.

Disappointed in the process of getting tickets

Very difficult to locate person. Standing outside in the heat wondering where they are. Helpful to have a banner/temp kiosk or something on show to know where to be. Asked to be there 30 mins prior. There no show until 15 mins after. No fun standing in the heat waiting and not knowing. Process then complicated not realizing they still had to get tickets for us. The tour was then 15mins later than advertised. Not an ideal process

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry the meeting point and check-in process were unclear and that you had to wait in the heat. We appreciate your suggestions regarding better signage and will take them into consideration as we work to improve the experience. We hope you still enjoyed the tour despite the delayed start.

Nice visit but meeting point not great

The meeting point and the pickup process could use some improvement. Even arriving 30 minutes early, there was no one there, we were a bit lost.

Operator response

Amazing Place

The Hungarian Parliament audio guided tour worked very well. The Parliament building is a must see while one is in Budapest.

We arrived late - We had to do the visit the next day.

A lot of security control, so it is important to bring passports and arrive early. Unfortunately, the information on the electronic ticket (ewallet) is not complete and did not say that one had to arrive earlier, so we lost access. We managed to get tickets the next day at the official box office by arriving at 7:40 AM to buy tickets for the same day. Better to do that instead of depending on a company that will not support you and will only wash its hands of your delay. The visit was very good, the site is imposing, it is very much worth it.

Tourist trap by tourists

What a tourist trap by TripAdvisor!!! Advertised as a guided tour with personal tour guides. Made it look like it’s exclusive. It is not. The only thing they provided was a person at the front who collected your passports and bought tickets for you. The tour is narrated by pre recorded audio that government provides and it’s free. For this “exclusive” experience we paid 90 dollars more!!! If you go and book it your self it is a lot cheaper. Shame on your TripAdvisor!

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. It is advertised as an Audio Guided tour, not a live guided tour. Our final price is carefully calculated with service fee, out of stock risk.

Parliament Building Tour

We waited outside the visitor center till scheduled time. The entry process was a bit messy - some people have to bring their passports. We only toured one wing of the parliament building. It was grand and opulent. Comparable to a palace. The 45-minute tour was sufficient, but I will only do this tour one time. Some staircase (about 3 floors) climbing is required

Great tour to learn about history of Hungarian government

The tour is an audio tour when you get inside. The guide just basically coordinates the tickets and gets you to the audio guide. That said, the tour was great. I really enjoyed it. It was a little hard to find the meeting point and the rules require that you cannot be late so allow extra time.

Beautiful but not my favourite thing in Budapest

Amazing to see the building inside and is a stunning building but only 45 minutes tour at most so seemed expensive and not value for money. Was good to see the crown but would not go back again
