Huayhuash 8 Day Trek

Description

The Cordillera Huayhuash is less popular than the Blanca, but is no less spectacular. More remote and higher than the Santa Cruz trek, the Huayhuash trek is a traverse of he mountain range made famous by the film "Touching the Void". Though trekkers may have to brave the cold weather and rugged terrain, the reward is perhaps the best views in the entire Andes range!

A dream I never wished to wake from

8 days, 110 km Total elevation gain and loss: 5,000+ m Camps between 4,100–4,600 m High passes over 5,000 m, day after day No cultural garnish, no glossy promotion of the developed world— just the raw, uncompromising beauty of the Andes. Words and photos can’t reproduce the living, breathing 3D of being here. Of course it’s exhausting. Every day begins in frost and ends beneath a burning sun. Gasping uphill, treading carefully downhill. Layers damp, drying, and damp again. Yet every mountain, every lake, every gust of wind, every patch of moss, every breath—I cherish it all. It felt like walking inside a dream, one I never wished to wake from Thank you so much Mila, you help me create a precious memory in my life
