The views were beyond words! Unfortunately, the water was very choppy, so we were unable to experience the full tour(did not have the opportunity to go around the full island or step off of the boat). This was of nobody’s wrongdoing, just our misfortune with the weather
Dear AnnMarie, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are glad you got to enjoy the tour even with the conditions on the day. We look forward to welcoming you onboard in the future - hopefully when the weather co-operates! Regards, Howth Cliff Cruises team.
Had a wonderful time on the boat tour. Great sights. lots of additional information and entertainment provided by Harry. People running it were all wonderful and very accommodating. Would highly recommend it to anyone planning a nice family day out everyone from my 70 year old father to my 5 year old nephew had a ball and cannot wait to do it again.
Thanks for the lovely review. For our family run business we love to hear that families enjoy their experience with us. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Regards, Howth Cliff Cruises.
It's not really a guided tour, just 2 guys who turn recordings on at certain points. They do not interact with you at all. We did not go to Ireland's Eye, a fog had rolled in but I don't think they intended to go there. They certainly did not announce anything.

Picture perfect experience. View of lighthouses were terrific! Cliffs are simply stunning! Plenty of opportunities to take photos of landscapes and landmarks.

Quick loop of the harbor but very scenic. They accommodated us for an earlier one because we got there quicker than expected. Great scenery, but the ride was really choppy. They said it’s not always like that but good to know you’re going out into unprotected waters. Narration isn’t the most detailed so I wouldn’t expect to learn a ton. Thankfully the deckhand was very friendly and talkative.

Beautiful day, great birdwatching, friendly and helpful guide- spotted the one puffin among the many the common guillemots and made our day!. I highly recommend the tour

We went on another boat that was much larger and realized quickly it was not going to get us remotely near the cliffs due to size. So we pivoted and bought a second set of tickets with this company and their smaller boats later so we could be closer to the cliffs. All of the promotions talk about puffins - you are never remotely close enough to see the birds without binoculars and we saw no puffins (of course we understand companies cannot guarantee sightings of animals - that's not realistic). Why am I giving this such a low rating? We were packed into this boat like sardines. Truly. There were so many of us the last boarded had to try to find somewhere to stand until the seat went down over the opening to get on board. If you are unlucky like us, you get smooshed under the awning that has acrylic/plastic side guards part way up (basically to over where anyone would logically have the top of their head) that you cannot see out of. Then to top it all off, only one side of the boat really gets to see anything because only that side of the boat is towards the cliffs - and almost all of those people just stand in front of you the whole time. I could have made better use of my money throwing it out the window on a busy road. See photo for proof of "view." "Guide" aka the second employee that was not steering the boat sat on his phone the entire time. At one point the person steering the boat needed something and completely had to leave the area after shouting for the person numerous times to get his attention away from the phone.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations, especially after choosing to book a second tour with us. Our smaller boats are designed to get much closer to the cliffs than larger vessels, but we always operate within safe distances from the seabird colonies to protect the wildlife and comply with conservation guidelines. While puffins are regularly seen during the season, sightings can never be guaranteed unfortunately. We're also sorry to hear you felt the boat was overcrowded and that your view was obstructed. Passenger comfort is important to us, and all of our tours operate within the licensed capacity set for the vessel. Your comments about our crew are disappointing, this is not the level of attentiveness or customer service we expect, and we'll be discussing your feedback with the team. We value all feedback, as it helps us improve. Thank you again for bringing these points to our attention, and we wish you all the best with the rest of your travels.
Don’t book this boat. We went to sit on top of the boat thinking good views and yet we weren’t told that if we sat on top we wouldn’t hear one word of the tour guide comments. Do not book this boat if you want any information of what you are seeing. Upon our return, we sat for 20 minutes waiting to dock as another boat was in the way. Ruined our schedule, waste of time…do not book this boat
Dear Kelley, Thank you for taking your time to provide your honest feedback on your experience. We appreciate that this was not as you had expected and we sincerely apologise. Our customer care and management team are reviewing this with our crew directly. If you wish to discuss your experience further with our team please feel free to contact us via howthcliffcruises@gmail.com. Kind regards, Howth Cliff Cruises Mgt team.
Most beautiful scenery with the cruis, with the beautiful cliffs and we even got to see puffins! Such amazing nature and such a worthwhile tour. Highly recommend!
