Hokkaido Farm Tomita Shikisai Hill Waterfall& Blue Pond Day Tour

The views are beautiful and it is a lovely trip through some of the hills and rural area of Hokkaido. Bring cash and remember that you have to carry everything you buy home with you after the trip 🤭

Of the four sights, I would have called two such. The farms are basically small shopping stops and the young woman who accompanied you has good suggestions what you could/should buy where. For me, however, it was a quick and easy solution to get out of town. The landscape is very beautiful and impressive.

The day is full of great activities, lots of animals in the zoo, lovely Blue Pond and amazing half frozen waterfall, great photo spot of a lonely Christmas tree and end the tour with shopping for unique Hokkaido skin care plus extra at Furano Herb Garden. We really enjoy this fruitful day with light snow ❄️☺️👍❣️

The content of the tour was largely good and our guide was excellent, but much of what we ended up doing/seeing was completely out of season (which our guide essentially apologized for multiple times throughout the day). I would easily recommend this tour if done earlier in the year but it feels like still selling it for as late in the year as I ended up doing it is a poor choice. It should only be available for booking until maybe the end of September and not into mid/late October or November

The scenery was beautiful the flower farms we visited were nice even in October. However, I felt rushed at the Blue Pond, it would have deserved more time for walking around. Our guide was nice, her English was understandable, but I would have like to hear more information about the history of the places instead of shopping guides. We paid for an authentic Japanese lunch, but because of a local mix up we did not get it, we had to buy our own. I contacted Viator’s customer requesting a refund. They replied promptly, and within two days they issued a refund. All in all it was a good tour.

The places are interesting but you have to be prepared for a very rigid schedule. The bus was not comfortable.

Pack your own snacks, the bus is a smooth ride, and the tour guide James Wong was very funny the whole trip making travel time go by really fast. I was worried I can’t understand the language, but James was considerate and will speak in Chinese and then English, and even though it was a full bus, I felt he was very aware of everyone, and kept watch over me, at times to make sure I make it back to the bus on time and also help me when I have difficulty buying things with local merchants. I felt totally safe traveling alone and had a great time visiting the attractions, especially loved being able to see the Lavender field.

The content was great. We loved all the flowers and lavender. The time for each stop was appropriate. It was difficult to understand the tour guide at time. I wish there was more commentary about the local area during the long bus rides between stops.

We joined this tour on 24 th June 2025 and were extremely dissapointed with the tour quality as we specifically chose an English speaking tour guide but was provided by tour guide Mr Lee who spoke broken English and always struggling with words. Most of the time he provide lengthy information in Mandarin but very brief info in English. We bought the tour package and chose to include japanese lunch but when we arrived at Herb Garden for lunch I asked him regarding our lunch reservation. Tour guide Mr Lee said he was not aware and have no information regarding this. We showed him our booking confirmation, he wasted 25 mins checking with restaurants about our lunch booking and this shorten our lunch time which originally was 1 hour. Both restaurants on site does not have our booking on their list. We have no choice but to pay for our own lunch and only had 15 mins to quickly eat and get on the bus to proceed to next stop. He then promised us that he will check with his company and get back to us, till now we have not heard from him. Up till now we did not hear from him at all which is rather irresponsible and not a trustworthy person and tour company The small mini bus was not suitable for such a long tour of almost 9hrs. My husband who is 180 cm felt very uncomfortable seating on this bus where leg room was too narrow and with full capacity of 20 people. A bigger bus should be use to ensure passengers comfort and safety. This significantly impacted the comfort and quality of the Iong bus journey.
