Description
This tour is a journey through time and space, we will see buildings from pre-Hispanic Mexico to today. We will enter all the spaces described with the help of a historian who will pleasantly tell us more about this wonderful city.

We will begin the tour in the 14th century, taking a look at the ruins of the great Tenochtitlan.
We will go to see the greatest ecclesiastical construction in Mexico City to appreciate its architecture and the damage it has suffered over time.
Appreciation of the space known as Zócalo, the most important square in Mexico
We will visit the first church in Mexico City
We will visit a 16th century palace, very famous for its Moorish decoration.
We will see one of the most beautiful buildings built in the 20th century, we will take a look at its lobby and we will learn something about its history.
We will see the exterior of the Old Mining Palace, you will learn a lot of history in this place.
We will visit the Palacio de Correos, the Fifth House of the Post Office, a super instagrammable place.
Our historian guide will tell us about the history of this magnificent Palace, we will see it from the outside and we will take a look at the lobby to learn more about its history.
We will walk for a moment through the largest park in the city center, we will learn about history and legends.
We will visit the entrance to the museum where you can appreciate the art deco architecture of the building and some important expressions of the city's popular art. At this point the tour ends in case you choose to visit the museum.

Our walking tour of Mexico City’s historic Centro with Joss gave us a wonderful introduction to the cultures that shaped this place through time. Our guide’s background as an historian and her passion for her city brought different eras to life as we visited sites and buildings that represented their time. We received a solid foundation on the history of Mexico City, as well as delightful surprise visits to places like the Grand Hotel with its extraordinaryTiffany glass ceiling. In addition, we were able to customize the tour to include personal priorities like a a visit to Diego Rivera’s stunning mural series inside the Ministry of Education. High value day, and a legacy of extraordinary memories.

Joss was a spectacular guide, she passionately explained every detail of Mexican history and towns. The tour was private and I was able to talk to her and ask her many questions. Joss knows a lot and I recommend her to learn about the anthropology of the native peoples.

This tour is perfect for people interested in the history, culture and traditions of Xochilmilco as well as the present day lifestyle of those who live and work in these canals. Our guide was knowledgeable and very pleasant and she was responsive to our interests for this private tour. If you want something other than what the party boats have to offer, we recommend this tour. Also the lunch was a great experience!
