Step back into the Arizona Wild West with this Historic Gold Mine Jeep Adventure. With adrenaline pumping, you enter mine to follow same vein of Gold that prospector “Old Rackensack” chased in 1880. Our Hard-Rock mine allows guests to Safely experience Old-Timers painstaking methods for extracting the elusive precious mineral that had such a profound impact on Arizona’s History. In-route to the Mine, you will explore the Upper Sonoran Desert’s rugged landscape with Flora & Fauna photo stops plus educational narration about Rackensack Canyon’s Archaeological Indian Ruins. After an exhilarating mountainside ride to Summit Studio/Giftshop, you will enjoy complimentary refreshments before heading to mine. Sit back and enjoy the ride with Certified Off-road Desert Guide in our Custom Jeep Gladiator that is weatherized for "Rain or Shine" Tours and exclusively designed for safety, comfort plus maximum visibility of spectacular vistas.

Designated Departure location for our tours is in Carefree, Arizona Town Center on the East side of their World Famous Sundial. Come early and stay late to enjoy the small town hospitality of this beautiful community with excellent restaurants and unique shops in abundance.
Our private Road Easement in Tonto National Forest is connected to North Scottsdale/Carefree, Arizona. The trailhead is located 15 minutes northeast of our pickup location from the Sundial in Carefree.
We own the destination Mountain Top Sanctuary that you will be visiting which allows us to offer unique boutique style sojourns unlike any other. From spectacular wildflowers in spring to an occasional dusting of snow in Winter or mesmerizing panoramic views from the summit, each of our tours provide a Unique Arizona adventure that is available exclusively from Rackensack Canyon Tours.

We had a wonderful time on the Gold Mine Tour with Rackensack Canyon Tours. We explored Tanto National Forest and an authentic, old gold mine. Our guide Rebel was friendly and knowledgeable, and able to answer all of our questions. You really got an understanding of life back in the area 100+ years ago and the flora and fauna of the area. Charles and Ginger were warm and welcoming, and our kids got to learn how to lasso! The 3-hour timing of the tour was the perfect amount of time. Would highly recommend this tour!

Very informational. Perfect for sight seeing and nature. Charles and Ginger were the perfect host with snacks and a wonderful conversation. Then off to the gold mine. Our guide, Paul, was very knowledgeable and amazing! Highly recommend the whole experience!

Our tour guide Rebel was fun and gave us lots of information. The ride was scarey at times going up switchbacks with no guard railing but, our driver knew the roads well. The couple who owned the mine were very gracious and welcoming.

Such a beautiful atmosphere like nothing I've ever seen before. If you are from out of state this is a must do! The guide big D was amazing and the hosts Ginger and Charlie make you feel so at home! Worth every penny would do it again!!
