Our tour as a private tour over 9 days was fantastic and our guide Aruna introduced us to his country, the sights and the people of Sri Lanka with great expertise and empathy. We started in Negombo, from there to Dambulla ( on the way stop at the fish market and a mangrove boat trip ) to Sigiriya Rock ( absolutely worth seeing! ), then catamaran ride (beautiful nature ) and a cooking class ( wonderful experience ). We continued to Kandy and on the way we stopped at the cave temples, which was absolutely impressive. The Tooth Temple in Kandy is a real gem and a highlight of the journey. From Kandy we headed towards Haputhale with a stop on a tea plantation. In addition to a short guided tour, we were even allowed to pick tea ourselves in the breathtaking nature of the plantations - just great! The next day we went to Udawalawe and there to the National Park. In the open jeep we passed close to many elephants, often with juveniles or in a whole herd - also a fantastic experience. The following day we visited the elephant transit home and could watch the baby elephants and young animals feeding. From here we went to Galle, which was a perfect shot of the round trip for us. Aruna was a perfect guide who was always friendly and professional. We really appreciated his manner, as well as his punctuality and reliability. It was especially nice that he stopped at the roadside again and again to surprise us with a portion of fruit. He also documented the days for us with photos he sent us in the evening via Whatsapp. We are very grateful for the great time together and will definitely love to come back. Best regards, Bettina and Jörg
