Trip to the Vulcano La Malinche

Everything was great. The tour was fantastic. While we didn't make it to the summit, it was a great experience nonetheless. Preparation for the hike is essential. The guide was prepared, on time for the pick up and helped us through the roughest part of the trip without any problem. It is definitely a worthwhile experience.

Malinche

We had a great trip with Luis hiking Malinche up to the tree line. We were very pleased to have Luis as our guide as he was friendly, attentative and had lots of patience (I was slow). He also had great English but let me practice speaking spanish with him as well! The only reason for the 4 instead of the 5 rating is that the trail was really crowded and extremely dusty (as the Itza Popo trails were closed due to a fire). It is a steep trail with no switchbacks, so be prepared for a steady climb. We didn't do the summit, but to the treeline and back was around 4 hours.

Operator response

Hello! Many thanks for writing a review. We are glad you had a good time with our guide Luis. Yes, Malinche was crowded that day because a long weekend holidays in Mexico (March 18th) and Iztaccíhuatl fire. People were walking on the same trail and that's why its was dusty. We hope you can come back to Mexico for another adventure.
