We meet in the saint Demetrius church, the Patron Saint of city and we enter inside to explore its hidden treasures and stories.
We go to the Roman Forum, where the guide will explain the archeological site and the beginning of the Roman period of the city.
We speak about the Byzantine period of the city through this masterpiece of construction.
We see the Hamza Bey Camii and the guide will speak about the ottoman period of the city. Also the mysteries behind this building.
We go underground to visit the archeological site of the metro station of Venizelou.
We visit the oldest market of the city, the kapani market and we speak about the gastronomical habits of the locals.
We visit the oldest monastery of the city and we unfold the magic of the byzantine art
We enter inside the cathedral of the city, the splendid Agia Sophia of Thessaloniki, where we admire the mosaic masterpieces.
We visit from outside the archeological site of the palace of ceasar Galerius and we talk about the monuments of his time, his Palace, the hippodrome and the arch of Triumph.
We end the tour in landmark monument of the city, the white Tower and finish the tour unfolding its sad story.

Our tour was the best way to get us oriented in Thessaloniki. Giorgos was so informative and we learned so much about the city’s history. Getting to see so many of the incredible churches and evidence of the different historical periods was wonderful. We even got some great local recommendations for drinks and dinner!
