Itinerary
Our adventure begins in the heart of Mumbai, outside the legendary Bombay Castle (behind Asiatic Society), where the story of the erstwhile Bombay Fort begins. Step back in time and learn about the city’s humble beginnings and how it has transformed into the vibrant city it is today and the role the precinct had to play in the same.
a place filled with fascinating stories from the mid-1800s. We’ll discover how gas lights were first exhibited here and hear amusing anecdotes, including a funny tale about Jinnah, the father of Pakistan. This is the same place where Gandhi’s ashes were kept for the people to come to pay their respects. We'll also share an intriguing secret—the Asiatic Society houses a hidden treasure, a 14th-century copy of Dante's Divine Comedy. Although not accessible to the public, this precious artefact was so valuable that Mussolini once offered a staggering one million pounds for it. We simply couldn't part with such a priceless piece of history.
We walk through the Horniman circle precinct and move toward the St. Thomas Cathedral
Enjoy a quick bite at this iconic Parsi bakery.
Visit the fountain that marks the expansion of Bombay beyond the Fort limits and listen to the tale of the division of the state of Maharashtra while looking at the Hutatma Smarak.
The beating heart of Mumbai's economy. You'll discover how this monumental institution started under a humble banyan tree and grew into the impressive structure it is today.
A testament to Mumbai's vibrant Jewish heritage. Delve into the captivating history of the Sassoon family and their lasting impact on the city.
This is the art area of Mumbai. Here, amidst stories of Sassoon and Jewish history, you will hear stories about the Watson Hotel – the first iron cast building in the city that hosted Mark Twain.
Our journey concludes at the old docks of Mumbai, where extraordinary stories await. Uncover the mystery of the enigmatic Ice King, explore the city's connection to the American Civil War, and brace yourself for the incredible tale of the day it rained gold in Mumbai.

Our guide Aditya Pai was wonderful and knowledgeable. Interacted with us very well and answered our questions with clear detail. He was patient and was aware of our welfare. The tour enabled us to understand Mumbai a lot better.
Fun, informative and engaging –
Lovely experience! Such a fun new way to see your own city
Our Port to Court tour with Aditya was a lovely little detour through the iconic, storied corners of Colaba. There were 8 of us, a curious bunch, and he kept us hooked with fascinating stories about everything we saw along the way. Somewhere between the history and the conversations, we completely forgot how hot it was :)
Everything about the walk was fantastic - the clarity, the language, the knowledge. I learnt a lot even as a local. Big thanks to Aditya who was well informed and a gem of a tour guide. I would highly recommend this.
Adi did an amazing job in showing us around and making our experience extra fun and insightful!

This is a late post. Let us start by saying we absolutely loved our experience and 100% recommend NFP. Ours was a very large group consisting of 60+ 10th graders along with their chaperones. We visited Mumbai in Nov 2025 for a field trip. The team at NFP helped us tailor a heritage walk around South Bombay especially for our students. Not only did they make it wonderfully interesting and age appropriate, but assisted hugely in shepherding our large group through the chaos of the city. Huge thank you to Heer and Benny for all their help coordinating and once again to Heer, Meherban, Aditya and Aman for doing a fantastic job of weaving fascinating stories of the history of Mumbai, our kids were enthralled.
