We had a great tour and enjoyed
Dimitris was an excellent guide and George did a great job communicatingwith us prior to arrival! My wife and children (7 & 11) very much enjoyed the trip start to finish. We started with the palace Knossos, which was an incredible experience. Dimitris advised us it would take about an hour to an hour and half. We took a bit longer because we stopped and learned about each area of the site, so probably longer than most. Dimitris was most understanding and gave us options on the rest of the tour. My wife said she really wanted to see the olive mill and he made sure that we knew it would be a bit longer than the original 4 hours since he also wanted the kids to experience the pottery making as well. It was no problem for him, he was just concerned about what time we needed to be back. Super kind. We then went to the olive mill, where we did a tasting and learned about the process. The next stop was the pottery shop where the owner made an amazing pot in front of us then let the kids try. They loved it. Our tour went longer than the original time, but again, our fault. Dimitris was most accommodating and answered all of our questions aboutt Crete and the area. It was a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it! Fantastic!!
Our tour guides George and Dimitiri were very nice, we really enjoyed all the activities we did. I highly recommend the olive oil tasting and pottery workshop. Our group were 4 teens and 4 adults, there was something for everyone! We had plenty of time to explore Knososs Palace, the museum and were even treated to Greek coffee by George and Dimitri, which was a surprising treat! The monastery is a must see too. Thank you for making our experience in Crete a memorable one!
We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon with Dimitris. We were met at the airport with cold waters, and taken to the Palace of Knossos, where Dimitris facilitated a very quick entry with lots of tips for the experience. We were then taken to Archanes for a lovely lunch surrounded by the charming village. Dimitris then took us to an olive mill and we were given a full tour- both of the olive grove and harvest process and the facility that makes the olive oil. We had a lovely tasting and were able to shop. George and Dimitris helped us have such a wonderful first day in Crete- and have made themselves available for other questions as well. Highly recommend!!
We were picked up from the airport and taken on a lovely tour- we stopped at the Palace of Knossos, had lunch at a tavern in Archanes and visited an olive mill. Dimitris was so friendly and helpful- we had such a lovely day.
A beautiful day in Heraklion & beyond. George helped us explore Knossos, Olive Mill and Lyrarakis Winery-it was Perfect
If you are looking for a seamless, high-end, and deeply authentic way to experience Crete, look no further than SunSud Tours. This was, without a doubt, the perfect day trip for cruisers; the logistics were handled with total precision, allowing us to maximize every minute of our time on shore without any of the typical port-day stress. From the moment we were met at the cruise port by our guide, Dimitris, we knew we were in excellent hands. He picked us up in a spacious, spotless Mercedes van and immediately impressed us with his friendly demeanor and wealth of local knowledge. What truly set this tour apart was Dimitris’s expert ability to pivot and manage the clock. When we arrived at Knossos and saw the staggering morning lines, he suggested a brilliant change of pace to avoid the crowds. Instead of waiting, we headed to the Pottery Workshop of Nikos Ploumakis. Watching the master potter, Nikos, expertly throw a decanter on the wheel was a mesmerizing and intimate cultural highlight. Our journey continued to the Agarathos Monastery, a breathtakingly peaceful sanctuary filled with vibrant flowering plants and trees—a perfect moment of serenity. We then visited Kleanthi Olive Farm for a fascinating tour of the groves and the press. The visit concluded with a delicious lunch featuring various olive oils, fresh bread, fruit, local cheese, and some truly insanely good preserved figs. By the time we returned to Knossos in the afternoon, the crowds had vanished. We were able to experience the ancient site in peace, exactly as it should be seen, before an easy return to the ship. Dimitris was incredibly easy-going and never pressed us for time; his genuine priority was ensuring we experienced the natural beauty and spirit of Crete. This was a masterclass in private touring.

George was a great guide. He let us plan out our day to what we wanted to see after he gave us several options. He was very knowledgeable about the locations we chose and made sure we got the best possible views during our excursion. Super friendly and very accommodating! I recommend this 6 hour day with him, you won’t regret it. Ron USA, Kentucky
The best way to experience Heraklion/Knossos. We had a private tour at Knossos. Then, we went to a FANTASTIC olive oil mill and tasted some out-of-this-world olive oil. Lastly, we went to a quaint vineyard with a fantastic view and had some delicious wine. What a great day. And, our driver, Dimitris, was the PERFECT host/driver.
