Superb experience

We spent a most enjoyable and informative 3 hours at the Healesville Sanctuary, where we were treated to a diverse display of Australian mammals and marsupials and everything in between. We were impressed with the general cleanliness and beauty of the environment, the helpfulness and knowledge of the staff and of course, the animals who obliged with posing for photographs! Entry price of AUD58 per person was quite steep I thought. I would imagine mum, dad, a couple of kids in tow plus food and drink would make for a pricey day.

Worth a visit

Quite good experiance. Occupied us for around 3hrs. Like all zoos, not all the animals were visible. If you time it right, some of the keeper talks are interesting. We watched a bird flying show, quite amusing. Perhaps more for kids, but adults can get enough out of it.

Native Australian animals in one place

We had a nice walk around the sanctuary. It’s a great way to see Australian native animals that you might never see in the bush. I’m not a fan of zoos, but these guys appear to be strong on conservation and rehabilitation and release.

Great Experience

Although it rained the day we went, our overseas visitors were able to see all the uniquely Australian animals and birds up close. The bird show was particularly worthwhile.

Animal lovers will love this spot

I went because the schedule of the morning had been crushed and it was a place that was a little concerned Anyway, it takes about two hours to get from the airport because it is in quiet nature. You should go when you have time. Some of them were doing shows at different times of day. We didn’t have much time this time, so we had to skip it… Koalas, kangaroos and other Australian animals, mammals, reptiles and amphibians abounded. Koalas and kangaroos were great for taking pictures because you could see them up close.

It’s a good long ride...

It’s a good long ride from the cruise terminal. But you see a bit of the city and the countryside. The animals have lots of space and natural surroundings to live in.

Wonderful experience

It has rained really hard for several hours before we arrived, so there were not many people af the sanctuary. This meant that the animals were active, and it was wonderfully peaceful. This was our third visit, and we enjoyed it as much as before. The koalas were moving around and eating, the Tasmanian devils were also active and bouncing around. The only wombat was fast asleep on her back. There were lots of birds around, and all the animals were in site. Best time to go, so plan a trip next time there is a rain storm.
