We met our guide on the front steps of the Omni Hotel in downtown Austin. Michael was very knowledgeable about the haunted buildings and parks in the area. He answered all our questions and took time explaining the location and the history of ghost sightings. Our tour lasted about 90 minutes. I recommend taking this ghost tour if you are visiting Austin.
Hello, thank you for your ghostly awesome feedback! We’re so glad you enjoyed exploring Austin’s haunted history with Michael. It’s wonderful to hear he was knowledgeable, took the time to answer your questions, and shared the stories and history behind the city’s haunted locations in such an engaging way. Hope to see you again soon for more adventures!
Terrible. We did not go to three of the paid-for/advertised stops, and did not end at the starting place (again, as advertised). Our "guide" could not stay on topic to save his life - we constantly had to try to get him back to the actual story. He spent 25 minutes at the beginning just going over the "rules". During the tour, he told us he was not a capitalist, spoke against the president, made inappropriate and uncomfortable racial remarks, encouraged the use of drugs, and said our country would no longer be a democracy in a couple of weeks. He barely spoke above a whisper in a loud downtown setting, and when we asked him to speak up, that's when he would make the inappropriate comments. I've been on many ghost tours, and I hesitate to even include this in that category. I would give zero stars if possible. Worst $31 I've ever spent!
Hello Angela, we're sorry to hear you were disappointed in this experience. We expect our guides to not only provide a thorough and entertaining tour, but to also conduct themselves professionally. This has been passed along to our managers and we are taking appropriate action with this guide. We have also been in touch with you via email and from our records, we have provided you with a refund along with a credit for a free tour in any of our cities nationwide. We look forward to the opportunity to give you the excellent experience we are known for. Thank you!
I’ve been on several ghost tours before and typically it’s an entertaining experience and great stories. However, I believe the company should hire people who can project their voice. During the tour I couldn’t hear the guide (who’s very soft spoken). Considering that we are downtown Austin at night with traffic and music it’s a very loud environment. At minimum maybe hire someone who can speak louder or use a speaker!
Hi, James! Thank you for your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the experience you had on the tour. We understand how important it is to be able to hear the guide, especially in a busy environment like downtown Austin. Your suggestion to either hire guides who can project their voices or provide a speaker is greatly appreciated, and we will certainly take it into consideration. Please reach out to guestrelations@wejunket.com with the name your booking was under, and we'll be happy to assist you further. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and we hope to have the opportunity to improve your experience in the future.
The tour was great! Our tour guide Vincent was very knowledgeable about the area and spooky happenings of Austin. We had a great time, also really appreciated being able to bring our dog along for the tour.
Hi, Jamie! Thank you for the great feedback! We're so glad you had a fantastic time with Vincent and enjoyed the spooky stories of Austin. It’s great that your dog could join the adventure too! We’d love to have you back on another tour soon!
Unfortunately we would not recommend. You are not able to enter any of the stops. Our tour guide began the tour by telling us there really are no ghost stories but some history on this tour. The tour guide was a terrible storyteller. For the one story we could actually fact check, the guide had majority of the facts wrong when we did fact check it. It could have been a really fun tour, but the guide needed more training and needed to remember the stories. The thought that went through our heads the whole time we were there was ‘did we really pay for this?’ We left halfway through because it was so painful.
Hi Randi, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're sorry to hear you were disappointed in your experience--it is unfortunate to know that this is how your tour guide presented our tour. We expect our guides to provide an excellent and professional tour every time. We would like to look further into this and work to make this experience up to you. Please reach out to guestrelations@wejunket.com with your booking information, and we'll be happy to further assist you. Thank you.
Guide was extremely hard to hear and didn’t attempt to speak louder even after being asked. Didn’t prompt for questions or engage with us between stops. At some points, he was walking so fast we were basically speed walking. We had to yell at him to slow down. The tour was much shorter than advertised, but we were so glad it was over.
Leah, we are sorry to hear about this experience. From what you described, this tour was not up to our normal standards and certainly now how this guide was trained. Please reach out to guestrelations@wejunket.com with your booking information, so that we can look into this and work to correct this issue. Thank you.
It was nice to get a bit of history on each of the locations we visited. The route took us around some of the more historic buildings in town. The stories weren’t in-depth, but you can’t expect much from an hour-long tour. I got what I paid for.
Hi John, thanks for this feedback. We expect our guides to provide thorough, entertaining, and professional tours for all of our guests and we will use this feedback in order to improve.
