Let me start my feedback on the people who made this day possible. First of all, many thanks to our guide Dalibora who provided us with great commentary in both English and Spanish and she offered me her seat next to the driver because the seat I was supposed to sit on was broken. She also helped sorting my lunch at the restaurant when I was served something other than what I ordered. I really appreciated her gestures. She is also a walking encyclopedia, she knew every little detail about the places we visited. Continuing with the people, we actually had 3 drivers during the day. The 1st driver was Milos who didn't speak much English but he also didn't make us feel safe in the van. He used quick steering wheel moves trying not to crash into incoming traffic and he also almost crashed into traffic standing at traffic lights, breaking hardly at the very last minute instead of slowing down normally. These are just a few examples to illustrate my negative feedback on him and the other participants were also complaining about his careless driving. The 2nd driver Milan was fantastic, I had a great chat with him (in English) and he drove safely and carefully. I didn't catch the name of our 3rd driver who drove us back to our hotels but he knew a little English and he was a great driver as well. The experience itself was exactly as advertised, we were taken to great photo spots and walked across the Bastei Bridge before going to visit the Pravčická Archway in Czech Republic, which was a place where hiking shoes are recommended over ordinary sneakers. Then we had lunch where 1 drink was also included, I had a delicious pint of dark Kozel on draft. We then visited the Kamenice Gorge which is absolutely beautiful. We hopped in a boat large enough to fit everyone and went on a lovely boat trip on the Kamenice River. There was a lot of walking the whole day, since I booked the Hiking version of this tour but it was worth it and we had an amazing day.
This was an unforgettable experience. Breathtaking scenery throughout. The tour was well managed, but read the comments. There is about 9 miles of hiking up and down steep hills. It was perfect for me, but not necessarily for all.
Our tour guide Mira was such a nice person. It was a wonderful trip. Especially, the fun game in the Trecny forest, of identifying shapes from the the sandstone rocks was fun. The drive was good, very safe, very smooth.
A truly wonderful and inspirational experience—stunning views, great company, an excellent guide, and a delicious lunch on top of the cake! I would highly recommend it.
Beautiful scenery, but the hiking part was quite challenging at some parts with steep steps, uneven rocks. The tour was well managed and hotel pick up is definitely needed because you will be so exhausted after full day hiking.
A nice change from exploring the cities. Our tour of 8 started in Dresden, and we met another group from Prague at the first stop. Our total tour size was about 16 people, and our tour guide was excellent. The first stop was at a park with restroom facilities; it was a nice easy walk with beautiful views. The second stop was at a rural trail where you hike uphill on a sandy uneven path to view the arch, much more challenging than the first stop, no facilities until you reach the top where there are bathrooms and a little restaurant. After coming back down we went to lunch, it was delicious and included a meal and a drink. I had the venison, and it was very good. The third stop was the boat tour where you hike down a switchback trail to a gorge where the boat tour is. It was very pretty but after the first two stops our legs were getting tired. The walk back up the steep hill was challenging with tired legs. In my opinion, I think the tour could have ended after lunch and it would not have changed the experience. Overall, we really liked the tour, it was a wonderful change of pace from touring city streets and museums, and we would highly recommend it. This tour is not for out those who are unsteady on their feet, people with recent surgery or those who are not in decent physical condition. Wear good sneakers or hiking shoes and layers.
It was wonderful, enjoyable and informative trip. Mira - the guide and driver - was fantastic. We spent a wonderful time exploring the sights and hiking.
Mira, our guide and driver, did a great job. However, the hike would have been much easier if the company had provided hiking sticks, even if it was for a fee. It had rained the day before, so some sections were slippery, so my husband and I had to be careful. It was a blessing that we didn't slip or get hurt. I heard that similar tour programs provide hiking sticks. Keep up the good work 👏
Being in Dresden and not visiting Saxon Switzerland, which is our Saxon Switzerland, well, that's outrageous at all. So, despite the incomprehensible weather forecasts, we did go to the scene. C. Switzerland met us with a boring rain, almost barely, and by nature you can not walk, we tried from the other side and, miraculously, the rain stopped, encouraged by this sign from above, went to storm the mountain range. HPT and I have built a medium-difficult route and we're on our way. Karoch, we've trampled eight kilometers, up 200 meters and down as much, personally, I've learned through pain about some muscles I didn't know existed before. And if from the lyrics to the facts, the park of awesome beauty - rocks, a lake, waterfalls, almost like real, gorges and steps up, steps down, steps in all directions. For practical information, park better at Kurort Rathen. Here are some pictures for the grub. If you haven't been there yet, go ahead and don't regret it.
Well organised, very professional and nice guide. I would only advise to be prepared for more walking that originally expected.
