This area is the political heart of Vietnam, where travelers can see the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the National Assembly building, and the Presidential Palace. It’s a place of great historical and cultural significance, surrounded by grand architecture and peaceful gardens.
At Truc Bach Lake, travelers can enjoy a peaceful lakeside view and visit the John McCain Monument, which marks the site where the U.S. pilot was captured during the Vietnam War. The spot reflects both history and serenity, offering a quiet contrast to Hanoi’s busy streets.
Banana Island lies on the Red River, offering a glimpse of Hanoi’s quiet countryside life. Travelers can visit a local house, see banana farms and vegetable gardens, and experience the peaceful contrast between rural life and the modern city nearby.

Vicky is such a wonderful and informative tour guide, and Hưng is an expert driver! They collected us at the hotel right on time. It was such a relaxed, unhurried tour. The food was amazing, and it was such a memorable way to see the sights and drive through history. I highly recommend it--such a unique and fun way to experience the rich history, beauty and culture of Hanoi.
Travelling through Hanoi with our young children Vicky was so accommodating and made the day a time to remember. Incredible service and the best way to see this city’s many hotspots with kids.
It's so fun and very good and also a lot of excitement and very friendly tour guide.
Ivan was an amazing guide. He was very knowledgeable and very passionate about the history. That makes it all interesting. The tour was a lot of fun too. My 3 year old had a blast with the jeep and train ride.
Ivan and driver hung are very lovely friendly guys and Ivan is extremely knowledgeable on a variety of subjects e.g. vietnam history, religion, foods from different areas and local sights it was a fantastic tour thank you so much we loved every minute of the tour - lunch at bun cha was a delicious local meal thank you 😊👍
Ivan our guide and Hung our driver were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful driving us around Hanoi. Loved going to Banana Island to chat with the locals. Highly recommend this informative tour ending with a delicious local meal at Bub Cha. Thank you Ivan and Hung.
Amazing tour with our tour guide Ivan, excellent history knowledge and English speaker. We get to try not only the bun cha but also special drink like the royal lotus tea. The old capital was very interesting with full of history behind it.
Ivan was an excellent guide; he took us to see the old capital of the Vietnamese people, Co loa. We also get to try some local delicacy like the lotus tea and feed the koi fish. Recommended!
We went with Vicky as our tour guide and Thanh as our driver and had a lovely experience! Vicky‘s English was excellent and she gave us some really interesting insights on Hanoi and the people‘s lives there. Also the Jeep tour itself was amazing (and adventurous) especially the drive to Banana Island! We got to see local attractions as well as places you wouldn‘t normally see as a tourist. Vicky was also very thoughtful – when I mentioned that I don‘t like pork, she quickly adjusted and brought us to a place that offered chicken pho instead of the traditional dish Bun Cha. The food was also delicious! Another big plus: After the tour, Thanh dropped us off at our hotel although it wasn‘t technically in the pick up/drop off area. Big recommendation overall! 🥰
It is worth trying, the schedule is good, the scenery is excellent, the tour is also clear, recommended for those who want to travel easily.
