Meet your lovely local guide who speaks excellent English at your hotel lobby at 8:00am or your preferred departure time, then leave for Shanghai Hongqiao railway station to take the bullet train from Shanghai to Hangzhou in 55 minutes. Please make sure to bring your passport with you before arriving at railway station. All your train tickets will be ready in advance. West Lake has influenced poets and painters throughout Chinese history for its natural beauty and historic relics, and it has also been among the most important sources of inspiration for Chinese garden designers. You can take a relaxing boat to enjoy the wonderful view of West Lake for about 40 minutes.
Guo's Garden was a private classical garden of Guo family in Hangzhou . It was built at 1907, with a mountain in the back and the west lake in the front, which is the best existing traditional private residence in Hangzhou.
The monastery was founded in 328 AD. It is one of the largest and wealthiest Buddhist temples in China, and contains numerous pagodas and Buddhist grottoes. Your knowledgeable local guide will not only point out all the details but also explain you the history of Buddhism and wisdom of Buddhism philosophy.
Covering an area of 132 acres, the Longjing Tea Plantation is a picturesque wonderland surrounded by mountains with a large area of tea trees. If you like, you can enjoy a cup of tea at a local tea house. If you want to do something else or visit other attractions, please feel free to discuss with your guide upon meeting. After your day trip is finished, you will take train back to Shanghai and be transferred back to your hotel.

We had an amazing day in Hangzhou from start to finish! Kelly arranged every detail of this tour so well. From our train tickets to our local Hangzhou tour guide and driver. On our way to the Shanghai train station, we got to experience a local breakfast treat ... jiang bing (pancake)! Abby shared her knowledge of Hangzhou .. the beautiful trees and gardens, Lingyin Temple, pagodas and Happy Buddha. We enjoyed a short boat ride around the area and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Green Tea restaurant. It was cold and rainy, but that didn't put a damper on the day!
Hangzhou is truly one of the paradises on earth with beautiful manicured trees and gardens with low rise mountains. I must thank Kelly from Shanghai Melody for organising professionally such a flawless day trip from pickup us up from our hotel to station for Bullet train, travelling with us to Hangzhou, taking care of sightseeing, organising one of the finest lunch, accompanying us back to Shanghai and dropping us back to the hotel. As a very frequent traveller my experience with Kelly changed my perception of organising travel thru travel agents. I wish all the travel agency pampers their customers the way Kelly has pampered my family.
