Captain Steph did an excellent job. She really knew how to throw a great party! She knew some of the best spots for food and drinks. Great photos and memories to be had, highly recommended!
Wow! We knew Steph was GREAT, but didn't know she was THAT GREAT! ;) Believe it or not, this is Steph's FIRST season with us and she has quickly become a guest favourite. So glad that you enjoyed your Halifax Party Bike Experience with Ride Solar & thank you for your business!
This was a blast! 3 stops and easy peddling. Tunes cranked and good vibes. Steph our guide was excellent.
We had a blast! Great way to see the city, learn about the history and try some local food and drinks. Our tour guide was funny, knowledgeable and played great music!
Our group had a fun experience on this Tour but were surprised by a couple of things I want to make sure others do know. In Halifax the city does not allow you to have alcoholic beverages in the solar bike itself so the adult beverage portion we were expecting all took place at a couple of different local establishments. We were kind of expecting that we'd be able to ride and tour more of the city but we really only covered a few blocks of the city and spent the rest of the time at a waterfront bar/restaurant and a hotel bar/restaurant a couple of blocks away from the port. We still had a good time but wanted to share this detail we thought might be helpful to others.
It was fun and you can petal if you want. It is electric so it’s your choice. If full some seats don’t have petals. You can not drink while on the vehicle.
Was so fun, Leaf our guide was so kind and full of information. The stops were just the right amount of time and each very different. 4 of us 60 years old and decided it was our favorite excursion of the trip. One note - they can’t serve drinks outside in Halifax, but we got great drinks AND food at each stop!
Leith was a great tour guide! He was fun, friendly and had great energy! Super fun ride through the city. My only suggestion would be to let people know in advance what food they could order at the spots. This would give them an option to decide if they want pizza at the first stop or something else at the second stop. But overall, it was a really fun time! Thanks!
Thank you BrieAnn! That is a great suggestion - we will put the menu options listed on the bike for people to see. :) We appreciate you taking a tour with us & so glad that you enjoyed Leith. He is a GREAT guide & wonderful to work with. :)
Amanda, our guide, was amazing. Very knowledgeable of history. The stops for food and drinks were awesome. Amanda played music, we sang and laughed a lot. It was an amazing way to see the sights of Halifax. We all had a fantastic time. The best part of our trip!
Thank you Susan! Amanda is our most experienced driver/guide & we are thrilled to have her as part of the Ride Solar team ;) So glad that you enjoyed your eco-tour with us in Halifax!
While this is technically a party bike (i.e. boozy), I read it was good for families and agree it was; however, if there are others in your group that want to party that might change things. We were a small group - just my family of 3 and another adult couple. You can purchase the ride and pay as you go for food/drinks. We stopped at 3 different bars/restaurants where the Solar company has a relationship with and you can receive a discount but are not obligated to buy anything. They were good restaurants with good food/drinks offered - especially the local Halifax white wine. Mandie was our tour guide and made it fun with just the right amount of local guide information. She gave us a good history of the region and highlights without too much information. Additionally, she had fun and festive music throughout and gave us tips for dealing with other drivers on the road :) Given we were only 5 on the bike, we were VERY slow moving but it was great fun and almost all the drivers and passerby were friendly and fun to interact with. Mandie played "East Coast" music which was folk music that made the ride festive. We stopped along the way at the main boardwalk, had a look around and got some history of the Halifax explosion along with some Titanic history. This tour was perfect for my family b/c it was a smaller group, picked us up directly at the Port (we were cruising), and was not too long. Just right. Highly recommend.
Thank you so much! We are delighted that you enjoyed your tour. Mandie is always great at striking the right balance of sights vs music vs commentary, depending on the group. It is a delicate balance, as you pointed out, depending on who is on the bike. Because the Pedal Bus (Party Bike) is so versatile, we get families & stagettes (usually not at the same time) along with tourists visiting NS. If you are visiting PEI, then please consider our Pedal Bus tour in Charlottetown or North America's LARGEST solar-powered boat for a harbour cruise. We give discounts to folks who do multiple solar-powered tours with us ;)
This was a hugh disappointment. You would be better off doing the Halifax walking tour and eat or drink where you want. We were told that no peddling was required and if we roll backwards at a light, we would be told and to remove our feet from the peddles. Well we rolled backwards and nothing was said! Our 15 year grandson's foot was caught, the driver had to be told to move ahead so he could get his foot out. He could not hardly put any weight on his foot for 2 days after!! No one ever reached out and asked us about the incident....terrible Also when you book you have the option the add the gratuity, which we did $30, then the driver tell us we can tip her. We were the only family of 6 on this. Do you even give the driver the gratuity collected when the reservation is made and paid for? Save your money, this is poorly operated and the saftey is questionable .
Hi there - very sorry that you had a disappointing experience on the Pedal Bus (Party Bike) tour in Halifax. This tour won a Viator/TripAdvisor award for the top 10 food/drinks tours in Canada - the only one on the East Coast, so we pride ourselves on quality. We were not made aware of any incident on the bike, but will talk to your driver/guide. We have never had any incident on any of our bikes in 6 years in 2 cities. They have proven to be very safe & slow (& fun) with thousands of passengers who have taken tours with us. As with any bike/pedals, sometimes people can scrape their feet - particularly if they are not wearing the proper footwear. It is true that people can pedal or not as we have an electric assist motor which means that you can pedal easily or not at all if you wish - this is so that people of every fitness level may enjoy. We even have bench seating as well as bike seats if people want to sit in a normal seat. Our drivers do not have access to the booking information showing that a gratuity may have been made, so most people would simply mention that they tipped when they booked. This is optional. I will reach out to you personally to get more information about your tour.
