Great Tour, amazing views and excellent guide. Everything was well organized by experienced stuff. Tour guide Marco was responsive to the wishes of participants, but also took care not to overtax them.
Hi, Thanks so much for choosing us for your adventure to volcan Misti. Enjoy your stay in PERU. PAT Team
We had a great time. Need to be in shape because the trail is steep, a bit loose and the starting altitude is ~11,000 ft. Guide were fantastic! Views were excellent. Did this in November so the trail was dry. Also did the 8am slot to avoid starting in the heat of the day.
Dear Karen, Thanks so much for your feedback about your experience. We really appreciate your comments because will help to other travelers to have better idea of this half day great adventure to volcan Misti. PERU ADVENTURE TOUR Team

Hello. PERU ADVENTURE TOURS say thanks to you for taking our half day trek to volcan Misti. Muchas gracias and we invite you to visit other corners of Peru. PAT Team
I booked a "two day trek up volcano Misti" directly through the operator (Peru Adventure Tours). My guide and I camped on the mountain overnight and continued early hours next morning to the summit. I made it to over 18k feet but unfortunately did not summit. It had been communicated beforehand that I would need a tent, "mattress" and sleeping bag. The "mattress" was one inch thick and barely made any difference. The sleeping bag was too small for me (and I'm medium size), I could only get the zipper 3/4 the way up, and it smelt. For those reasons I wasn't able to sleep, which made me not feel hungry or wanting to eat before going for the summit, which made me feel drained of energy. I believe that if I had gotten some sleep, I would have been able to summit. If I were to do it again, it would be just the trek starting at midnight, without camping on the mountain (you can request that). My guide, Karol, was absolutely amazing! She is 100% the real deal. Very experienced with mountaineering, and very knowledgeable. She did everything she could to make my experience awesome, and with a constant smile. She has a very sweet personality but don't let that fool you, she is a bad ass on the mountain!
Thank for your report..... PAT Team
The tour guide was too. We had a beautiful view and on the way back a great sunset. I liked that there were no other tourists.
Hi, Great to read review about your trek experience to volcan Misti. Thanks so much. PAT Team
This trek was one of our top highlights visiting Arequipa. After our driver Leandro took us through some non-trivial terrain to reach the trail head, the two of us hiked with our guide Marco Antonio for roughly two hours up to ~4150m. After this we took a great path down through a basalt field. We really liked the flexibility of this hike, as there was no fixed distance we needed to reach, however we were able to really challenge ourselves and face the enormity of Misti up close! The views throughout are awesome. This is a great complement/alternative to Colca that is only one hour away, much more intimate (we did not run into anyone else on the volcano!), and slightly more challenging, depending on your fitness level, experience at higher elevation and how hard you want to push. I highly recommend this trek!

Hola Richard, Thanks for your trek report to volcan Misti. And thank for visiting Arequipa/Peru. PERU ADVENTURE Team.
My tour was cancelled because not enough people signed up. This is understandable, but Peru Adventures repeatedly ignored my inquiries regarding whether there was a tour at a different time that I could join instead. I even tried going to their office in Arequipa, but no one was there even though it was during their business hours. I purchased this tour via Trip Advisor, who made the tour non-refundable -- if you purchase on their parent company's website (Viator) who operates the tour, you can cancel for free within 24 hours. I told both Trip Advisor and Peru Adventures that I couldn't cancel for a refund and Trip Advisor said not to worry. They said they had to call Peru Adventures about the issue, despite the fact that all my communications with Peru Adventures were on Trip Advisor for anyone to read! After many phone calls with customer service, I finally received an email that my refund had been denied! I then wrote back that I could of course get my credit card company to reverse the charge once I show them the messages between myself and Peru Adventures proving that the tour didn't happen. After that, they approved the refund immediately. In summary, I would not count on this tour and I wasted hours of my time trying to get a refund when the refund should have been processed automatically. If you book this tour, make sure you have a good credit card company or you may not get your money back!
Hi, You must be S.s.n G.bb.e, right?.... From the begin we recommend you to cancel your reservation and ask your money back from VIATOR, we did this to avoid any troubles like you mention in your reviews, sorry for that. See below the proof our recommendation we did to you: Dear Susan. Thanks for booking our half day trek to volcan Misti. Unfortunately, we don't have other people for the trek on July 13th. We need minimum few people more to develop this trek, otherwise we ask to cancel your reservation. PERU ADVENTURE team. Jun 26, 2024, 02:06 PM
