Located 8 km. from the city of Puno. This excursion allows us to visit one of the most important attractions of the Bay of Puno of Lake Titicaca ancient civilization that lives within the reeds or totorales, an Aymara language community that maintain to this day their skills as fishing ,bird hunting and egg gathering. Men are skilled builders and drivers of totora rafts and women are skilled carpet embroiderers. this civilization prefers to stay isolated from civilizations on dry land.

The tour to the island we went to was very nice, and the guide was very cool.

Went on the afternoon slot which was perfect, not so cold with warm sunshine. Roly our guide was excellent, very informative, kind and helpful. More a living museum and definitely worth the experience for 3 hours and a relatively inexpensive trip while in Puno.

About Uros: to feel what it is to be on a floating island, to realize how they are built and to be able to see inside the houses where they live is an interesting experience; About Taquile: the landscape is cinematic and the lunch at the Salvador restaurant was delicious, we were also able to learn curiosities about the customs of the local inhabitants which was very enriching; however it is important to reinforce that the tour in general is quite touristic, with the typical stops for shopping and about 3h in total boat trips. Our guide was Fredy (who was really from the islands!!) and Captain Jonathan who were very available and clarified all the questions we asked. We like it!
