the guide was very nice and customized the tour to meet our needs, she carried to several placers that was on the list, she picked us at our hotel, carried our luggage with us and dropped us at the cruise terminal,
The tour is super nice; the guide was very kind and understanding. Definitely a 100. My parents had a delay, and she kindly returned for them to the meeting point.
Although I booked this trip without reading that the tour wasn't offered in English, Nanako went above and beyond to accommodate us. She brought her Quebecian friend Helene with her who spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable as well. Nanako does speak English though pretty well. The entire day was wonderful from start to finish. They were waiting for us in the lobby of the Frontenac and from there we headed to the falls. She was an excellent driver and we went to the falls before the crowds. The admission was included and we paid for the Gondola up as stated in the description. We spent quite a good amount of time there at our own pace. After that we drove around the Island and she asked what our interests were and was willing to take us where we wanted to go. First stop was a vineyard with an incredible view and great tasting wine. She and Helene stayed with us the entire time. We started out as strangers but left with warm hugs from these incredible ladies. And for the price we paid for a private tour it was a great value. I highly recommend this tour!
Wanted half day tour to pick us up at cruise dock and a 4 hour tour before airport drop off Guide was very knowledgeable and accommodated our requests
Excellent operator. Detailed and very friendly. Stayed with us all the time when needed.. very good drivef.
It was confirmed by Viator that the Tour guide speaks English she does not. Spent $250.00 to drive around to a guide that could not be understood. Took us to the waterfall and it is not for an older couple to hike to. We were told she could have driven to the bridge. She handed us a sheet of paper and said pick two or three which ended up being winery place to purchase wine no informative information on the vineyard itself. Then stop at a chocolate store again a place to shop. The guide did drive up through old Quebec and did drop off at port. This was such a disappointment but I do think Viator is to blame. The guide is lovely person but I would say she SHOULD NOT PUT ENGLISH ON HER EXPLANATION FOR HER TOUR. (10/5/2025) I have notice that they have changed the description's to not include English. Shame on Viator for not refunding a partial refund for services not as as promised. )
We are sorry that you did not enjoy your tour. We would nonetheless like to make a few comments. 1) The tour is advertised in Mandarin, Japanese and French since few weeks and the guide told the guests right away that she guides mainly Chinese, Japanese and French tourists but that she was more than happy to guide in English. Other American tourists booked that tour and did not complain about the guide ability to speak English. They did enjoy the tour very much. 2) Regarding the waterfall, although we understand that it may have been difficult for the guests to walk on some sections, the guide is obviously not to blame for the construction sites on the way to the bridge over the fall. 3) Orleans Island is well known for its rural landscapes, for traditional French-Canadian houses and buildings and for the variety of produce. Therefore, the guide always inquire about the interests and tastes of the guests to take them wherever they like. She usually offers between 2 and 4 stops, depending upon the remaining time. The guide never proclaimed that she was a sommelier. The guests would have been better to ask the owner of the vineyard for any specific information about the process making, the wines, the vines, the soil, or the climate. 4) The guests did not mentioned that they had three large suitcases to take along but the guide was kind enough to ensure that they could be accomodated so that the guests could arrive on time at the cruise terminal. Fortunately, the trunk of the car was large enough.
Great day spent with friendly guide!! We really enjoyed our time and tour. The falls were beautiful as well as the island. We learned about the history and about Québec from Nanoko and her husband.
Dear Jennifer and Ryan, Many thanks for your very nice comments. I am happy that you enjoyed the tour. I hope that you could find the maple products that suit your taste.
Our guide, Nanako, and her husband, were awesome and friendly tour guides. They were very considerate of my mother’s and my difficulties in walking, and catered the tour around our physical ability level and our interests. We had so much fun today!! We absolutely loved Île D’Orleans, and the unique architecture there. They were good company to spend a few hours in a car together, and shared lots of great and fascinating information about the area. She was also an excellent driver, and we felt safe in the car with them. Nanako remembered that it was my birthday today and even brought me a small gift of maple cookies, which was so incredibly thoughtful. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to get out of (and around) Quebec City for an afternoon. Thank you!!
Dear Alyssa, Many thanks for your very kind message. It was a true pleasure to take you and your lovely mother around the Québec City area. I hope that you enjoyed the Musée de la Civilisation as well as the cruise on the St-Lawrence River. I wish you a nice and safe trip back home. Kindest regards, Nanako
The trip was a pleasant afternoon with my guide Nana, who was nice to smile about everything and gave me a deeper understanding of the city. She put every detail in place and the service satisfied me. Quebec City European-style architecture, the whole city is located by the St. Lawrence River very beautiful, very happy journey. Thank you very much to my guide Nana Little Sister!
We had the best time with Nanako! She met us at our hotel and showed us a lovely afternoon at the falls and around the Ile d’Orleans. Her vehicle was spotless and she provided great explanations about the places we visited, including the wonderful cideries. We covered a lot of ground and we never felt rushed. Highly recommend this tour!
