Depart from Durban at 8.00am and head to Tala Game Reserve for a game drive. Tala Private Game Reserve spans over 3,000 hectares of pristine wilderness, offering an unforgettable wildlife experience. Your tour of Tala Game Reserve begins with a leisurely drive through the reserve, accompanied by one of the experienced game rangers. Keep your eyes peeled for the rhino - as well as other exciting species such as giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and numerous antelope species. As you explore the diverse landscape, your guide will share fascinating insights into the reserve's history, ecology, and wildlife conservation efforts. Please note: In the event that Tala Game Reserve is un-available on the day of your tour, the game safari will instead take place at the nearby Gwahumbe Game Reserve, which offers a similar experience and quality of wildlife viewing.
From Tala Game Reserve we proceed to Natal Park. Natal Park is home to elephants. Enjoy a short drive in this African bush as you get to see elephants. That your guide makes all the difference. Our guide Mzweh was excellent. He arrived early, was professional, respectful, knowledgeable and took personal pride in making sure that we had an amazing experience. We had a private tour in Tala and he was dedicated in finding all the animals.
The main problem was that when we came to Tala Park, we were informed that there were no vehicles (I think they called them 4x4s; I called them "land rovers") that would take us into the park. That kind of a proper vehicle was shown in the front photo when I booked the excursion. In their absence, we were riding in the same van we were driving from the cruise terminal. The windows are small in it, and it is impossible to see much when driving in the game park. It was also without air conditioning, which, at times, was most uncomfortable. That was most frustrating. There were other problems with that excursion: the guide did not say much and seemed new to the job; the driver exceeded all speed limits by a lot, and driving on the highway was somewhat scary. I want to receive some money back, if possible.
WE had a goo time in Tala Game Reserve and Natal Lion Park. We saw lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, kudus and many moire. Good tour
