Grand-Pré is a powerful monument that unites the Acadian people. Visitors to the site will uncover the tale of Le Grand Dérangement: a tragic event in Acadian history that has shaped the vibrant culture of modern-day Acadians across the globe through its quiet but powerful renaissance. The site commemorates the Grand Pré area as a centre of Acadian settlement from 1682 to 1755 and the Deportation of the Acadians, which began in 1755 and continued until 1762. For many Acadians throughout the world, the site remains the heart of their ancestral homeland and the symbol of the ties that unite them to this day..**There is a fee to visit Museum but no fee to see Church and he legendary statue of Evangeline (heroine of the Longfellow poem) and the Memorial Church**
From the View Park, on Old Post Road, you gaze over the 1,300-hectares of farm-fields, marshes and dykelands that comprise the Landscape of Grand-Pré. Discover the deep human story within this land. A vast panorama gives life to the efforts of industrious Acadians, who, in the 1680s, overcame geographic challenges and the world’s highest tides to foster thriving settlements. Their ingenious system of dykes remained a technological zenith for hundreds of years—expanded and maintained by English, Scottish and Dutch settlers until the mid-20th century—and combined with a tumultuous regional history, led to the area’s designation as Canada’s 16th UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also rich in Mi’kmaw tradition, dramatic Cape Blomidon—which frames the dykelands—is said to harbour the spirit of the mythical watchman Kluscap, another facet of this culturally and naturally diverse landscape.
Blomidon Look-Off is on top of the North Mountain in the Fundy Shore and Annapolis Valley region. It is a small roadside stop with a beautiful panoramic view of the Annapolis Valley and the Minas Basin. On a clear day, you can see five counties and maybe a few Bald Eagles from the look-off.
Hall's Harbour Lobster Pound is a working lobster pound in the quaint seaside village of Hall's Harbour in the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley region...Great spot to enjoy some Fresh Nova Scotia Seafood.. Hall's Harbour is an authentic fishing village dating back to 1779, when Captain Hall and his privateers used this natural harbour as a base. Take a walk along the harbourfront boardwalk and explore the Lobster Pound’s buildings which date back to the 1820s; interpretive panels provide you with a history of the buildings and area. Enjoy the excellent views of the world famous Bay of Fundy tides along the way! There is waterfront restaurant for a delectable seaside meal of lobster! Additional meal options are available...**Meal Not Included** .
Pretty good chance to see a Bald Eagle on this Tour as Sheffield Mills is a Bald Eagle Nesting Area.
Fox Hill Cheese House is a cheese-processing facility located in Port Williams in the Annapolis Valley crafting over 20 varieties of specialty cheeses, natural yogurt and gelato, and non-homogenized whole milk in bottles from our own herd of Holstein and Jersey cows.
Planters Ridge is housed in a renovated 156-year-old timber frame barn that combines historical features with modern flourishes. Our artisanal winery has invested in state-of-the-art equipment, producing highly acclaimed wines, worthy of the Planters Ridge label. With a focus on blends, we have developed a reputation for crafting aromatic whites and well-balanced, silky-smooth reds. Paul is a considerate, kind and professional guide. You can just tell how passionate he is about his work and how much this man knows and loves his city. I had a really wonderful time in this trip because of him and the other kind new friends made this time! All the places we went during this trip were gorgeous and stunning also thanks to this good weather! I gotta know more of this city and now I start to fall in love of here, everything is out of my expectations and all the people I met are so nice and sweet:)) If you are going to Halifax and wonder what you can do there, don’t hesitate just give Paul a call!

Our tour with Paul of the Annapolis Valley was absolutely fantastic. We stopped at a few wineries and had the opportunity to learn about the regions history at Grand Pre. We seen a few eagles, had some lobster and enjoyed the breathtaking views. Paul was a top notch tour guide and highly recommend this tour. Paul is a fantastic tour guide! Our day was gray & got progressively wetter, but we enjoyed seeing the various sites & hearing about the local area. Paul was able to adapt to the weather & make the most of the day for our group. The Annapolis valley tour was something a bit different, as it was history, nature & wine. A perfect tour if you want to make the most of limited time in & around Halifax.

Had a great time on this tour. Went deeper into the Arcadian history. Enjoyed incredible scenery of Nova Scotia's agricultural life. Tasted delicious wine, cheeses and ice-cream. Always having special photo sites/spots, thanks to Paul. This was my 3rd tour with amazing/knowledgeable and warm tour guide Paul, from Half day Tours. Did the Half day Historic one (learned what has shaped the contemporary Nova Scotia's people). Did the Half day Peggy's Cove/Lunenburg, learned more about Nova Scotia's culture. Highly recommend the 3 tours and Paul's unique, professional, passionate and warm guide. Another thing to point out is that groups are small and bus is very comfortable.

It was perfect! I loved the onboard films. They were informative and made the travel time fly by. Paul was extremely knowledgeable about the areas and the sites we visited. His introductory question when we got on the bus asking us where we were from helped our group bond Paul was thoughtful and considerate. I definitely would recommend any of Paul’s tours.

Thank you Cher_H for taking the time to review your Tour of The Amazing Annapolis Valley...Glad to hear you had a Great Excursion & Excellent Meal in the Valley...Merci Beaucoup for your kind words..
We had back 2 back cruises so had 2 stops in Halifax. We toured with Paul to the Annapolis Valley and also on the historic Halifax tour. We truly enjoyed our tours. Paul is very responsive to email or text or call and met us right across from the ship at Pier 22. We learned so much about Halifax and the surrounding area and its history as well as Titanic history as a bonus. The van was comfortable and the lunch stops were local restaurants and so good. The 2 winery stops in Annaoplis were so different ( one large and more formal and the other a family owned and run establishment with individual selections based on personal wine preferences) but we liked them both. You cant go wrong booking with Paul.
Thank you Atravelfan for taking the time to review the Two Tours you did with me...Ecstatic to hear you enjoyed both Tours of Annapolis Valley and Historic Halifax, Dartmouth & Fisherman's Cove...Merci Beaucoup for your VERY kind words
