On 07/01 we made a tour in Santiago accompanied by the tourist guide Cinthia. We would like to thank you for the explanations about the history, culture and the characters who have been and are present in this beautiful city of Santiago. Obrigada, Cinthia! Zenaide, Teresinha Marisa, Jonas and João Paulo
Mauricio was an amazing guide. He was so funny and informative. He showed us around Santiago and brought us to places we would not have found on our own. He taught us history of Chile and explained explained how and why Santiago was founded. He took us to get an empanada that he personally recommended. I asked him about lapis lazuli and at the end of our tour drove us to a local place to buy some without pressure and where we trusted we got a reasonable price. Unfortunately I forgot my jacket in his car and he went out of his way to return it to me. That was really going above and beyond great customer service!
Victor was a fun and knowledgeable guide great fun and good daytrip. The stops were long enough to really see the sights. Changing of the guard was especially interesting to see.
Enjoyable and informative tour. Enthusiastic guide. Appreciated getting out and about to see things I may not have otherwise. It was great to be able to get out and walk to experience much of the tour.
We signed up for an English-guided tour. The tour company couldn't provide us a pick-up time until around 8:30 pm the night before. Our guide, Stephanie, picked us up at the time as related the night before via WhatsApp. We were not informed the tour would be conducted in English and Spanish until the last couple was picked up, a total of 8 on the tour. There were stops/things omitted from the itinerary, i.e. the Jokey Club, changing of the guard, etc. We spent half of the tour waiting for the tour guide to answer the Spanish-speaking couple's questions and I'm sure they were just as bored standing around waiting for the tour guide to explain things to the English-speaking group of the tour. Overall, a very disappointing tour, we would NOT have signed up for a dual-language tour.
Good morning Mrs Gail, According to your bad experience. *This tour DOES mention its operated bilingual. And in these cases the guide must provide the sam information in both languages. This tour was taken in high season where there was thousands of people arriving from and for cruise ship. *According to the change of guards at Palacio de la Moneda. This is not everyday it is every 2 days . *This is a shared tour not private. * Pick up times are always confirmed the night before. This because reservations maintains open till night. We are sorry this was not a good experience for you both.
I booked the tour through the hotel. Our guide was excellent. He had a lot of knowledge he willingly shared about the country and its history. We managed to see most of the districts of the city and after our 4 hours had an excellent idea about the area. It's interesting in that the city sets in a valley surrounded by mountains. The central park dividing the city is actually a small mountain, called the "sleeping dragon."
Adequate city tour. Gives you an idea about the city and its history. Could have been better if they had taken us on the funicular as part of the tour rather than taking you there then telling us we have to pay to go up
Was very enjoyable, visiting a popular food market, given time to walk freely through a park, visiting a historic fort in the heart of the city, all accompannied by a friendly and knowledgable native tour guide who filled us in with history and recent events. Hector knows his stuff.
