Guide was very helpful and it was beautiful scenery on the water. Having some experience kayaking helped.
Quatre Natures cancelled by email at the last minute, informing me my refund would take up to 10 business days! The guide was allegedly sick and there was no replacement. I had been sceptical about the trip actually happening given my initial contact with them, the small number of people that had signed up, and it being Thanksgiving too.
I need to lodge a serious safety complaint about this experience. Viator does not make it easy to file a complaint. If you work at Viator and are reading this, please contact me ASAP so that I can provide complete information. You should not be working with this seriously dangerous kayak “tour” provider.
Amazing experience in the St Laurent river. It’s a must do activity when you’re in Quebec. The guide is very helpful, provide you a bit of history on the island, give you good tips for all your future kayak trips. The kayaks provided are very easy to use and to navigate. The St Laurent on this side of the island is very beautiful and amazing for pictures. The only issue is the way to go to the Île d’Orléans. There are no buses to go there, so it’s mandatory to have a car or someone to bring you there.
We were excited to kayak and explore the island of orleans. We thought we were pretty experienced kayakers and didn’t think we would have any issue. This tour was marked as beginner friendly. To begin with, we were given a kayak with a malfunctioning rudder. We didn’t discover this until we were way in the water. The instructor was nice enough to bring us ashore and give us a new kayak. However, this first experience set a bad taste in our mouths. When we were given a functioning kayak the second time around, the waves were really bad and we didn’t understand how to use the rudder. Either way the tour leader was super compassionate and understanding. We felt bad that we wasted the time of the other kayakers with our issues. We think that maybe to prevent this from happening in the future, maybe two tour guides should go out. One to lead the way, and one to lag behind and make sure everything is going smoothly.
Lots of fun. You need to be prepared for some work paddling, which os great if you have some kayaking experience or are used to vigorous exercise. Beautiful scenery. Well equipped and expertly guided. Louis our guide did a super job.
Excellent outing in a safe environment and good preparation of the guide. Properly maintained equipment and safety precautions.
Very clean and quality facilities. Nice trip in small group. Friendly and professional endearing staff. Thank you very much!
Great experience! Yohann and his staff were excellent guides and gave us a glorious morning on the quiet waters of the St. Lawrence. The equipment was of good quality and in good condition. For our family of 4, including two children under 13, it was a perfect introduction to sea kayaking.
Disappointed. I expected 3hrs of excursion and finally it was only 40 minutes kayaking. Perfect for beginners, but for my part I did not get my money’s worth. I understand the guide who tried to adjust to a group with children and we were not of their level. However, it must be said that the activity lasts 3hrs in total and the excursion is about an hour. We even finished 15 minutes earlier...
