Onesmus was knowledgeable about Jinja and able to give me lots of information. Having a boda boda ride was an experience too. The best part of the tour was being able to see the source of the River Nile which was an additional fee for the boat. I enjoyed my 3 hours on the tour.
During a really nice walk through all the city’s neighborhoods, our guide showed us the versatility of Jinja. He was very well able to tune the tour to our wishes and made us feel safe. He showed us the best place for a really good coffee (@the Source!) and told us a lot about the colorful history of this town. We ended with an amazing local lunch where he joined us. We would definitely recommend this tour!
During the very interesting walking tour, you will also get a lot of information about the culture and the history of Uganda!
My guide, Onesmus, took me on a nice tour through the historical street in Jinja. Then, we visited the market and I tried some local foods (the famous Ensenenne). The guide adapted the tour to me, so it was interessant. Finally, we arrived at the Nile source. A focus point in this area could be improved : since we are in a walking tour, we do not another guide in the Nile source. At the end, we drank together in a bar very close to the Nile with a beautiful view on the Nile. Thank you ! Louis
Our guide Onesmus took us on a pleasant walking tour of Jinja. It was interesting to see the Indian influence in the local architecture, names, and cuisine. The tour is interesting overall, though there are long stretches of walking in between points of interest. It was especially interesting to see the Nile river.
Lots of history in Jinja, nicely explained by the guide. The guide took us through the vendors' marketplaces, and that was quite interesting. We were not used to such crammed little marketplaces, with everything for sale that one can imagine. After the town visit, we went to do kayaking. It was so much fun!! There are so many more other activities in Jinja that I didn't know about... Definitely needs a return, to do some serious rafting, which I understand there are category 5 options... Great tour overall.
Onesmus showed us around Jinja and gave us an interesting history about the place. Arthur, his manager was extremely diligent in his communications and made planning so smooth. Would highly recommend joining this tour if you're in Jinja!
